Certificate of Origin was a prerequisite of any export trade in Dubai.
Huge departments and staff dedicated to it.
And now it is required to trade with the EU?
A weeks notice to build the processes.
So we’ll make more money trading with the rest of the world? Standard since 1973.
I did wonder how the EU would protect itself from firms buying raw materials dirt cheap on the world markets and then reselling.
I guess this is how.
It isnt only EU that requires CoO
No, but there are plenty of countries that will not be too arsed.
Nature abhors a vacuum. It’ll be filled.
So the new startup that I’m a part of exports to 67 countries.
Every one of them requires COO and Tariff codes.
Any country of any size requires it.
Start-up?
Have a bit of respect, Cherts. Pioland is a start-up. Germany is a start-up. Italy is a start up. All the countries in Europe they battered and occupied are start-ups.
The UK is not a start-up.
Eh?
He works for a start up
And so it starts.
Sunlit uplands and all that,
Are you really surprised that in the first couple of weeks there are issues - it will take a while for everything to get hammered out, but companies will get there
Fair dos.
I thought he was referring to the UK.
Name me one person on the Leave side here that has ever talked super-optimistically about sunlit uplands or whatever.
Same thing for blue passports, or any of the other things that Leavers were supposed to be interested in.
Speaking purely for myself, it was about returning decision making powers, no matter how small in the context of just being one person, back to me.
Whether we make appropriate use of those powers is down to us, and our governments may fuck things up.
We can’t do that with a failing EU administration.
If that’s a sunlit upland, guilty as charged. But I don’t think it is, and I’ve never been sure why the Remain side need to go off-site to get their mad Leaver opinions.
Andrea Ledsome for one
The UK government for one:
Bless
Issue is 12% (and its not just 12%) off the bottom line of every UK exporter is a fuck load of money.
Out of interest the 12% is that because whatever product being exported fails a test under country of origin
Who is Andrea Ledsome’s alter ego on here.
