Wishing Pap and wanking now, the moment has gone, watch newsnight and the tory view on the current Brexit negotiations. It goes something like this and its a belter.
Live on newsnight
“Fuck knows, past caring and its like the living dead in there”
I fucking dropped my champagne at that belter.
Here you go Bazza. I was watching it last night too, it did make me laugh. I quite like Nick Watt, he’s one of the better political journalists.
What I understand from watching the news last night is that if they don’t agree the Withdrawal part of the deal then we Brexit with no deal on the 12th April!!
If they do then they can re-negotiate the “future political state” part but we Brexit on the 22nd May!!
I may be wrong though…
Of course they are. But why would anyone expect any different? If anything was known at the start of this process it was going to be the EU’s likely negotiating position.
Yeah, it’s something like that.
Edit:I think this was the more relevant one.
Defeated again 344 to 286
Soft Brexit now, big corps, taxdodgers, London and the South will be rejoicing.
How so?
Doesn’t this just set the date?
They’ll have an indicative vote on Monday on the options, May is a remainer lets not forget, she is also a tory cunt who’ll put party before nation.
The process is now out of her hands concerning dates.
There’ll be a long extension before we leave on a no deal, big business will not allow that, they will not allow that at all on both sides of the channel.
Doesn’t this vote dictate that we leave on the 12th April?
Parliament seems paralysed, so how will anything change?
Theresa May says the result will have “grave” implications and the “legal default” was that the UK would leave the EU on 12 April
How on earth do you come to the conclusion that tax dodgers will be rejoicing at a Soft Brexit? A Soft Brexit means that we will have to abide by the new EU Anti Tax Avoidance Directive which comes into force next month. Why do you think Rees Mogg, Boris Johnson and others who up until a few days ago were calling May’s deal, “a spawn of the devil”, "a worse deal than remaining in the EU, etc etc, suddenly did an about turn and decided to support it? Rees Mogg’s companies make a fortune avoiding tax with offshore companies in the Cayman Islands etc. Johnson also has links to various secretive offshore companies. Philip May makes his, (very lucrative) living advising tax avoiders, also several credible reports that his company is making a small fortune out of this ongoing Brexit chaos. The last thing these shysters want is a Soft Brexit. What they wanted was for May’s deal to pass today so that May will step down, to be replaced by Boris Johnson who would then rip up any withdrawal agreement and pursue their wet dream of a UK version of Singapore, free from any rules regarding tax dodging, implementing workers employment rights, all of the, to them, tiresome regulations that stand in the way of them, and the tiny minority of billionaires they represent making even more shit loads of cash at the expense of the vast majority.
They may well still get their wish though, it must be getting very close to the point when the EU wash their hands of the whole charade. Not just the politicians but the general public in Europe have had enough of this dominating their lives for the past three years. Read a few European publications, google translate, as a nation we are now held in ridicule and scorn. The once universally acknowledged Mother of Parliaments reduced to a laughing stock. Shameful.
The City of London is a shell company.
No, as IT stands will leave before then but there is nothing to stop the Government putting meaningful votes in before then and renegotiating a leave date which the EU would agree to.
The legal default is that but if there was no agreement whats to stop the Government revoking or even having a “peoples vote” on it or even possibly the hand grenade of a general election.
Very profound Barry! And now, why do you think tax dodgers and their representatives decided to change their minds and vote for the deal even though they think it is a worse deal than remaining? And why do you believe that these tax dodgers would be rejoicing at a Soft Brexit, (which is what you said), when a Soft Brexit would mean they would be bound by EU Tax Avoidance Regulations, which would cost them serious amounts of money, not to mention some seriously embarrassing questions to answer when details of their murky behaviour would inevitably come to light? I’m all ears!
They’ll be rejoicing in short as the status quo still exists, they get to operate and not pay the morally correct amount of tax paid, London is a shell company, there is nothing more to be said than that.
Apparently i’m not allowed to reply again to Barry, so could you do me a favour and point out to Bazza that the status quo means we remain in the EU for the foreseeable future, there fore will have to abide by the EU Tax Avoidance Regulations. So the tax dodgers certainly won’t be rejoicing will they. In short or otherwise!
Is this the same EU that can’t harmonise tax and gives London special dispensation?
