US Ambassador getting pelters
I think Brexit is about rather more than chlorinated chicken, much as that story might have surfaced and resurfaced over the past year or so.
Its merely a marker/symbolic of the fact that the ‘We’ve got our country back’ is aloud of crap in a global economy… we have just swapped being beholden then EU for whoever we need to deal with…
At least it’ll be us, and not someone else, deciding who we’d like to jump in bed with. Besides, consumers have a choice.
Seriously? YOU believe that? Yes the better off will have a choice as they do now, buying organic cornfed birds etc… but as always its the less well off who will ave a choice to buy cheep unhealthy shit, or nothing. If we create deals with the US, they will demand we open doors to many of their shitty industrial might… The EU may dictate to us what we buy (we are after all members so why was this a surprise) but at least its protecting EU quality…
See this is the thing that i find so ridiculous with those Brexiteers who say ‘at least its us making the decisions…’ IT should NOT matter WHO makes a decisions. What matters is WHAT that decision is and the impact it has… tell me, are you happy with all decisions made in Westminster in the last 30 years? And please don’t say ‘at least we voted for em, and we can vote them out’, because that is bollocks, the decisions have still been made and are rarely repealed… its only a matter of scale/idiotic notions of ‘britishness’ … and you have never answered the question of whether you would be happy ‘ACCEPTING’ capital punishment if it was voted for in a referendum that was non binding… would you be OK with MPs rejecting it, or would you expect them to follow the ‘will of the people’?
I believe that we’ll have greater agency to choose the food we buy, and that sir should probably do his shopping further afield than Waitrose so that sir does not sound silly when he complains about chlorinated chicken.
Food is already pretty fucking disgusting mate. Has sir ever sampled the wonders of mechanically recovered chicken, widespread in low cost foodstuffs like hotdogs, chicken nuggets and the cheaper chicken burgers?
The chlorinated chicken thing is at best, a sideshow in the horrors of Project Fear. Not only do you not have to buy it, but there is worse on the shelves already, EU approved to boot, and lots of Brits have eaten chicken in America and have survived.
Sir seems a little confused with respect to the principles offered in this example…, that of choice being no longer dictated by EU regs is one thing, but it becomes likely to be controlled US as part of any trade deals… it is a simple concept.
Secondly Sir’s rather sneering attempts at a small dig with his Waitrose remark simply illustrates he is a bit daft… there are no Waitrose in Scotland and sir should in any case stop being a bit of reverse snob… it undermines any respect that can be attributed to his opinion
Go stuff your face with as much chlorinated reconstituted chicken nuggets as you want… I can see you now, a sort of creepy reverse of that mockney cunt Oliver telling us all to embrace The Yankee Chicken, as a delicacy now only afforded us due to the triumph that was Brexit…,
Oh and will he ever answer that oh do simple question?
If there are no Waitroses in Scotland, I can understand why you’d be even more frustrated. You won’t be able to pay that Romanian lad peanuts to do the cross-border runs on his pushbike. Your post-Brexit Waitrose costs must look like rocketing.
And you wonder why these threadscan disintegrate… what ‘wit’ you display …
And please answer the question
Sorry to butt in to a private row, but clear signs here that the end game is coming together, clear move on Barniers part that the EU will give reassurances on the backstop
No ‘row’ Fil… Pap is too transparent for that…
What was your question?
Squeaky bum time, isn’t it?
Legally, we’re out without a deal on the 29th. It’ll be interesting to see if they try to keep us in.
I’m guessing a time limited backstop might not be that impossible after all.
Like I said, too transparent
Imho it was always going to come down to last minute.com.
Just now about who blinks 1st and praying someone doesn’t completely curve ball it all one way or another
I see through your repetition.
I’m here all week.
Oh FFS get it over and done with.
Then we can unite to say what a shit deal it is.
There is worse though… those that don’t even care what the laws are they want control over… just that they want control… to hand it over to the US the moment we need to ensure we get a decent trade deal… They have a habit of never answering a straight forward question…
Fear not, Liam Fox has been a busy man over the last few weeks. He’s kissed apartheids arse, just to get the same as we had. Bravo Liam, racists everywhere will rejoice.

He’s also been busy trying to get us in the appalling TPP corporate carve up and don’t forget America. Those shit food standards alone(andtthere’s far worse already negotiated) would cost the NHS billions each year treating the problems caused by the shit that is not fit for even animal consumption(impact reports state this quite clearly). But the NHS will soon be gone and the cunts want you ill, so you buy their shit overpriced medicine.
It’s a win win situation for someone.
