:brexit: Brexit - Deal or no deal

.”…Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) s https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-55283489 aid four Royal Navy patrol boats are ready to protect UK fishing waters…”

Does the Govt think they can do an Iceland in the Cod Wars . Smacks of petty jingoistic rabble raising tbh

Thats because it is… Boris et all are just like Trump, they know exactly what appeals to the swaying voters who suck up the populist bullshit. Its the ‘flag waving mentality’ - folks who knit away for royal babies whilst struggling to pay their heating bills, folks who still believe we are the best country on earth, based on past dubious glories, yet happily put such jingoistic nonsense ahead of eradicating poverty in the UK, or their own welfare…

It didn’t take long for the sabre rattling to start did it? Seriously. WTF?

Reading the comments under the BBC article simply validates the fact we seem to have many who would rather we ‘protect our waters from the evil fishermen’ than focus on the domestic chaos that could ensue. Its sadly two different mindsets… on the one hand you have those who would be concerned about the implications of port blockades in France and what this not only means for our trade but the quality of our lives and the ridiculousness of it all… and on the other, those who would simply hate the EU and french even more for doing such things in support of their fisherman… etc

Probably more a negotiation tactic - ie we are serious

Gods knows how effective it will be

Thing is these are not collaborative but bully boy tactics straight out the Eton dormitory. They don’t have a clue how to build relationships, thinking its as simple as smearing butter on their crumpets and some fag’s buttocks (the old public school term here for junior servant)… as opposed to the diplomacy such negotiations demand.

Fucking twattish schoolboys who dont really give a shit on the outcome as they are all right whatever, but looking to milk the populist vote for all its worth… and unfortunately there are enough of those who lap up the jingoistic bullshit to make a difference…

That’s just hysterical claptrap

If there is a point in there, you have a better chance of getting it across if you turn down the hyperbole

Haha, you really think these guys are acting like ‘statesmen’? You really think they have any real investment in the outcome apart from votes? You really believe they have the interests if the all sections of society at heart? I might suggest you turn down the blinkered comments

I think he really thinks you’re damaging any point you’re trying to make by coming across as hysterical or hyperbolic.

Without wanting to speak for anybody, I think that’s as far as it goes.

Really? haha ‘hysterical’? If you believe that you are taking things way beyond a normal analysis… slightly obsessive would be my guess… as you do seem to have the desperate need to respond to my rays to other people as well… rather transparent tactic really … … ‘lets undermine the point he is making by suggesting he is hysterical’ as opposed to addressing the point made… which you hardly ever do.

But to be honest, I don’t really give a skoob about what you think I am, so does it matter? nah, but you seem to worry about it? Maybe lie down for a bit and clear your head?

Why that job in advertising still eludes me I’ll never know.

Wasn’t me making the suggestion guv, but since you mentioned it, it’s a statement I happen to agree with.

People will just switch off and scroll past your posts.

Seeing I pointed out it would happen about 3/4 days ago, I think the EU may also see it as a bit obvious as well.
Equally, and realistically what else would you propose.
A no deal Brexit means they cannot access our International Waters. Any fishing is theft.
It has been blindingly obvious the Navy would have to enforce it unless you put Plod in a row boat waving unenforceable fixed penalty fines

Yep

I thought the Europeans always respected international law, and it was only us who can’t be trusted to.

Well those like yourself who believe posts containing ‘melting butter on the fags buttocks’ is somehow all hyperbole and hysteria, maybe, but yet your panzers and stormtroopers are considered rich intellectual insight? Are you serious? :joy: :lou_facepalm_2:

As to whether ‘the people’ read it or not ? I humbly suggest that is only ever a concern for those with fragile egos

I will ask you again, have Boris et al behaved like statemen during these negotiations or has it been all bluster and jingoism in public at least? They have behaved exactly as type, the schoolboys they are and I am surprised you have not made more of that considering how much you ‘dislike’ anyone who was ever educated outside the state system…

I ask this with an honest sense of inquiry.

What the fuck are you talking about?

Learn to fucking read…

Are you finished writing it yet?

Two edits to date, like.

You still here? I thought you and the people did not bother reading what I posted so why does it trouble you so? Like I said a tad obsessive…
