:brexit: Brexit - Deal or no deal

It’s not an excuse, don’t be silly. It is what it is, EU law. No doubt you think they should just allow laws to be broken because they don’t suit theUK. I thought this was one of the main planks of the brexit argument, ie, the right for the UK to apply their own sovereign laws? But not those Europeans eh. You are all over the place in your attempts to try and defend this nonsense.

Just to remind you, they didn’t kick us out, we are leaving voluntarily. Thankfully, we hold all the cards though. Not sure if Mr Bones the Butcher, Mr Dose the Doctor and Mr Bung the Liar will cut it, sadly.

Yeah, let’s review that EU law, shall we?

It is law proposed by the elites of Europe, rubber-stamped by overpaid MEPs that are complete non-entities to their constituents.

Needless to say, I don’t have a great deal of faith in EU law.

Do you?

In your own opinion of course

Last time I checked, the European Commissioners were traditionally drawn by clapped out former politicians we wanted to see the back of (Kinnock, Mandelson) and the European Council is comprised of the various Foreign Ministers/PMs of each EU country.

Okay, okay - you can get more elite, but not much more elite. More importantly, the EU voter has NO avenue whatsoever to propose new legislation or to remove those who proposed it.

Errrm…what about the EU Citizens Initiative? A bit clunky admittedly but it is definitely an avenue to propose new legislation

I’m not a citizen of the EU anymore so it’s irrelevant what I, or you think. It seems to suit them though, which is.
The UK voluntarily chose to leave, so now we don’t have abide by crazy laws enforced by undemocratic elites and overpaid Mep’s, which allow their people to use faster passport gates which ensures a fast and smooth service. Madness.
Thank goodness we can now leave this nonsense behind us and regain our sovereign and traditional right to stand in a queue for hours! Unless you’re Ian Botham of course, a great pal of The Johnson, strident cheerleader of his Brexit strategy, but who unfortunately spends most of his time at his house in Spain, popping over regularly to the UK and between European borderslooking after his business interests. Tricky one. I know, arise Lord Botham, a seat in the House of Lords, part of the legislature, diplomatic passport. That should do it. “Wow, thanks Bozza, I owe you one”.
Do you really believe the likes of Gove, Cummings and Johnson and their backers, disaster capitalists and the like, who are leading the charge for the hardest of brexit, are doing it for the benefit of people like you and me? We don’t exist, we are irrelevant to them, handy sometimes for fodder.

Johnson hasn’t got a political conviction in his body. He wrote a speech covering either outcome of the referendum, so no.

Cummings is a political arsonist looking to completely reform the relationship between the elected government and the officials that help run it, so no.

For me, the pair of them can fuck off the minute we’re out.

The problem for all of us is that there’s fuck all to replace them with.

The one time they might have had a decent chap capable of winning an election, pretty much the entire political establishment painted him as Satan.

I’m back where I was a decade ago. Not supporting any particular party and of the strong view that anyone that could get in is going to be a cunt.

Welcome to my world - though I do despise Johnson and his cabal…a lot.

So now “we” are arguing about the most obvious Brexit impact.
Not being able to use EU lanes at Passport control.

Just wait, Boj will outsource the software work decoupling our own egates then blame the EU for his mates making more money.

The EU is having trouble passing its budget. The main reason is because it contains all the provisions for the COVID assistance package, which is made up of either grants or cheap loans, no strings attached.

Sounds like exactly the sort of reason a country might want to be in such a union, right? Solidarity at a time like this?

Unfortunately, it’s failing to materialise. The more frugal countries are less than happy about the poorer countries getting this dosh absent any change.

I am sure that @Polski_Filip will confirm that Poland is one of the countries that the richer states are targeting. They want it to change its laws to receive any assistance. Poland is quite naturally telling them to do one.

Until this is resolved, no EU COVID money.

It is almost as if there is a deliberate policy to piss the EU off.

Judiciary appointees annoy them, then pass outrageous anti-abortion ruling, not to mention the civil rights attacks on LGBT Doctrine (NOT people btw)

Thing is, Eastern Europe, who are “playing up” are now home to vast swathes of especially German manufacturing plants (& about 80% of all Italian Kitchens are made here)

Looking at a big picture, I’d say, like UK, EEU are not big fans of social democracy/greater integration/immigration but are playing a different game to UK. And maybe wiser?

I did mention this a while back. Always on the horizon with the UK not being a part of the EU anymore. I suspect that the home office may just make a special category for footballers. They’ve done it for much less well paid sectors.

UK & EU did have different rules for non EU players iirc.
Would expect similar to apply.
So wouldn’t be able to sign a Schneiderlin as an example

This could equally go on the When I Saw This… thread, but it’s another Brexit Bonus

Sunny uplands, oven ready

The trade deal with Japan also allows tariff free imports of Japanese cars.
In other news.
Christmas comes early for turkeys in Sunderland.

So. You can now import Japanese cars from Sunderland & Swindon with zero duty.

That is a great benefit of Brexit

Yeah, i’m sure they will be queuing up in Japan to import Japanese cars made in the UK.

Have you not been keeping up?

  • Barcelona goes
  • Sunderland stays
  • Nissan to focus on UK market if EU fucks about
  • The failure of the three blokes, that trio of Remainer cocks that were a cause celebre on here to some, is complete. Not only did they got to fucking Southampton of all places to talk about the decline of the car industry, but they also said Sunderland would go without a close deal with the EU. Wankers.
