…like he said, there is nothing intrinsically wrong or unhealthy of washing in chlorine (we go swimming in it) its the fact it is necessary as they have lower standards earlier in the production standards in order to minimise costs… it quite simple.
The absolute worst thing about Brexit were the losers that couldn’t accept the result and made the Conservatives looking like the only democrats in the room.
If there’s one thing I’d change, it’s them.
There is, as I have already said, strong evidence that the process does not get rid of all traces of harmful bacteria from the chicken carcasses. The extraordinarily high levels of salmonella infections (1.35 million per annum) and campylobacter infections (1.5 million per annum) in the US attest to that.
We have chlorine (and sometimes fluorine) in our water supply, as it helps to kill bugs. And yes, pre-washed salads are washed in a highly chlorinated solution (that’s if you buy pre-washed - I prefer to wash it myself). Salad leaves, to the best of my knowledge, aren’t known for carrying salmonella or campylobacter.
But your second question is just a straw man. I haven’t said that we shouldn’t wash salads in a chlorine solution, so please don’t suggest that I did.
So chlorination not a bother.
Thanks for clearing that up,. Surprised it has been the subject of dystopian fantasies for so long.
Answer from a 15 year old… hoped you might apply that huge intellect of yours and answer the questions or are they too taxing for you?
Keep reading the Balzac and knocking back the Prozac, you man of the people, you.
I bet you believe you have the complexity of character of one of Balzac even lesser characters… sadly, you seem a bit one dimensional in your posts… As for prozac, my mental health or otherwise has about as much to do with this debate as my daughters education… but fill your boots
Never claimed to be a ‘man of the people’ just expressing my opinion. We all aspire to be better human beings dont we? maybe demonstrate some compassion and understanding? never thought that would be considered something to try and beat someone with?
Thank you for the the reference, its bean a while since I listened to that, so teh lyric did not spring to mind… although its still about as relevant
So what do you feel is shit about Brexit or am I right in assuming you will happily embrace it all or dont care about its impact?
I’ve already said what I think is shit about Brexit.
I think it’s a fucking shame we’ve got five more years of the Tories, probably ten, thanks to your collective inability to take Leave for an answer.
Thanks, thats now clear. Can I assume that we can revisit this quote when Brexit does not deliver the milk and honey for the poor who voted for it … or will you then claim that is this all the fault of a TORY Brexit and that a Labour Brexit would have been soooo different? - Thats the thing, I am sure you will always find a way to try and squirm your way through this… its actually quite amusing to watch your creative skills, even if rather transparent and a bit obvious
I think its fucking hilarious that you with all your great political intellect did not foresee a Tory Brexit and a Brexit Tory future from the outset… should have been obvious the day no-one really gave any fucks about Farage’s racist posters, or ‘people having enough of experts’ - we should all know what happens when politicians ignore advice from experts…
Yes, that’s exactly what I meant. Well done for spotting it amongst the words that said something totally different.
I did foresee the Tories winning the general election. I saw it the moment they u-turned on a second referendum, and predicted it thereafter.
It’s shit to be right.
What must be even worse is to be in your shoes.
You didn’t get anything that you wanted. We’re Brexiting, we’ve got five more years of the Tories.
You condemned, through your own selfishness and anti-democratic entitlement, another generation of kids to Tory austerity and cuts.
And yet, you Remainers are all still trying to play the moral card.
You make me sick. The lot of you.
I was not asking about foreseeing a Tory General election win… anyone could see that and did so not sure what you are bugging about … I asked about foreseeing a TORY and right wing future in the run up to Brexit vote, which was as I said one of the big concerns of many… you remember, Farage’s poster dont you? and the resulting debate about a lurch to the right?
Come on keep up dear boy!
Blaming folks for sticking to their principles? IF only the ‘labour’ voters in etc north had done so hey… but as I said there is a big difference between principles and tradition.
you dont make me sick, because deep down, I dont think you are evil or stupid, but do actually care… just you have maybe misjudged the mood and principles of the majority of the british people and their motivations for Brexit… you have as result ‘sided’ with those who make you feel very uncomfortable, but have gone so far along for try ride, its impossible for you to escape from it… I suspect there are more than just you in that boat. None of you make me sick, just a slitter sad.
The people ho make me sick are the racists, bigots, Gove, Cummings, Boris, Farage Rees-moog and all the other s who managed to convince many unsuspecting folks that it would be a huge benefit to leave the EU
The run up to the Brexit vote does not matter. That was four years ago and you were perfectly entitled to campaign for whichever outcome you wanted.
I did not foresee that a cohort of Quislings would rile the British public so much that their only choice left was to vote for the Tories.
I did not see that, but given the fucking gigantic circlejerk and mourning session on here in the days following the vote, perhaps I should have.
Still, you all knew best, eh?
I dont know best at all, merely pointing out the fact which you have ignored… that many, especially us ‘circle jerkers’ on here tried to point out to those advocating brexit based on socialist principles… that it would see a lurch to the right, empower those with hidden prejudices etc… not too difficult to see where this would lead, especially given the country is already generally right wing… But it had no impact on those with a rather myopic vision of the principle above all else… no amount of insults about my motivations, ‘middle classless’ or whatever other teenage socialist worker Bullshit rhetoric will alter that fact…
You have to live with it…
Well you’ve done a bloody good impression of someone who knows best.
All I see is a man that has lost touch with the world after running away from most of it, citing concerns about folk he never has to deal with.
It’s not very convincing.
Well, thats an interesting perspective, but certainly not true, but its becoming a bit of a predictable response whenever you have no answer to the questions or comment made… Did I or others not spell out our concerns over the lurch to right pre vote or not? We did, and you brushed it aside on the wrong assumption a Labour Brexit would resolve all these issues - just admit it, you miscalculated and are now trying to blame those who simply stuck to their principles… which I thought you said was a good thing, after all its for raison d’être for voting Brexit is it not?
Are there many council estates near your double-shedded pad?
I live two doors down from a HMO (house of multiple occupancy) which houses former addicts and others with mental health issues who benefit from care in community (A former hotel/pub) 30 yards away is our village pharmacy which provides methadone service on Thursdays. Much of the village is former and current council housing. not that any of this matters to those with a social conscience… many in village are on pre-paid gas and electricity, but we have a great community spirit, no nimbyism, with volunteers currently delivering food to those in isolation, as we have many older residence, in which I partake. Funnily enough having moved here from Sussex, there is a lot less snobbery in both directions, people take you as you are and judge you by your actions and kindness, not which house you live in… maybe you should try that and get the fucking big chips off your shoulder and address your prejudices?
So what’s your point?
I had promised myself not to let you irritate me toady or get under my skin… but I will indulge myself and simply suggest you are behaving like a prize cunt on this because of your refusal to actually answer any questions and then resorting to insults based on wrong assumptions… but you do have a bit of form with that…)
