I thought they were sitting on Saturday to vote on the deal, not to pass some more bullshit legislation.
I can’t see them agreeing to an extension either.
It’s a bit of an odd one.
On the one hand we’ve offered a deal that’s shit for ourselves, so a good example of why not to leave. On the other, an unregulated American puppet on their doorstep probably isn’t that appealing either.
I think there will be at least one big surprise(assuming parliament doesn’t capitulate) and possibly more once the courts are dragged back into it(my personal preference, as that could open certain doors that’ll remain firmly shut otherwise).
Remember what everyone was saying not so long ago, about Johnson not leaving on the 31st and then an election. The EU will know about this as well and might just favour this way of going about it more than the above two options.
There’s a chance here to destroy the build up of far right power, i hope they don’t waste it.
If the EU are seen in away to try and be king maker in the UK that will only harden anti EU sentiment

That’s the beauty of it(from their point of view). We ask for an extension, so them granting it only shows a willingness to cooperate with people asking without any prompting.

But sad that it seems to have become about ‘winning’ and piss take… all this should be about is a simple issue: If we are going to leave, then let’s do it in a way that gives us the best possible stability and minimises risk to the most vulnerable… is that really too much to ask? Is it worth compromising that to hit a deadline that is arbitrary, when we know those who are pushing the ‘the people just want it down with’ line are doing so because they have hedged for such an outcome and will benefit accordingly…
If the people have lost patience and demand it’s done now whatever, then it’s easy to say fuck the stupid cunts… but I really dont want to see the shit that is food banks and the misery that goes with it become even more of a symbol of Britain… whilst those that instigated it sit back and live if the fat of the land

They are trying to kick the can so far down the road that people get fed up and say Brexit cannot be done - and then revoke A50.
Johnson, through being an arse, has achieved more that May could ever have because the EU were worried about him going no deal.
Imagine how effective our negotiation would have been if everyone had got behind it. The EU are playing the classic divide and conquer game and it’s working it’s arse off.

See I disagree, it’s obvious that remainers in the house would delay it if they are true to their beliefs… but it’s the Brexiteers that want it on their terms that have delayed it by and it’s plays into the hands of Boris et al…
The only reason we are 3 years done the road is that Boris wanted power and to get it he and his followers who will earn big bucks from no deal, voted against Mays deal … and blamed her, yet now we have one that is worse when you think it leAves the door open for no deal 12 months…
This needed apolitical independents to negotiate and had we had that, we would have been done and dusted 2 years ago…

That’s bollocks. If you have one side consistently infighting, showing their hand and stitching each other up, then their negotiating power is utterly compromised
The EU haven’t had to negotiate - they have stonewalled and watched as we fucked ourselves up the arse.
They have only moved because time was running out and they thought Boris might actually carry through his threat. All of a sudden the cast iron, set in stone, unchangeable Withdrawal Agreement became more malleable. Funny that.
I am not disagreeing that out infighting has been ridiculous and has caused much delay, but Its also been deliberate, a see have seen its left Johnson the victor, and throughout this debacle the language of negotiation has always been antagonistic…
They do that at their peril, Farage walking through the commons should be enough to make the sandal wearing delaying cunts come to life and realise something has to be done to stop that, them cheering at a no Brexit is naive and fucking selfish to the point of appearing backward.
If this vote isn’t acknowledged we can join the rest of the EU and have an established right wing populist party causing mayhem, well done delayers and remainers, you should be proud.

I agree Boris has been somewhat robust - but he has brought matters to a head and it needed to otherwise we would be in this not in not out purgatory for ever
The remain MPs have undermined May at ever turn assuming her heart was in it in the first place. Her issue was that she was too weak, too poorly advised and too Maybot

Of course the EU agreed, wouldn’t you if you thought you had struck a deal, only for the people that didn’t even bring a pen(who really dragged it out?) pulled out because of in fighting, only to come back with a deal worse for themselves?
May was shit, but she wasn’t a petulant child that storms off when they don’t get their own decieptful way.

A bit more on the letter situation. Apparently, we’ve sent three.
The first is the letter mandated by law. Sent unsigned, with a disclaimer that the letter is not from the PM.
The second was a letter from our EU Ambassador, explaining the situation.
The third is a signed letter from Boris Johnson, saying he doesn’t want an extension.
The EU cannot accept this extension request at face value and maintain face. If this were a kidnap situation, it would be honouring the wishes of the captors, not the captive.
