What sort of chair? Just trying to form a picture.
An old 3-legged wonky stool facing into the corner. Is what my friend told me it was like⌠*cough*
Funny you should mention this, as I have one of those âNikeâ black and white wrist bands, this messes with my head slightly, for the same reason!
Mark Dugganâs aunt.
We also had a black teenager killed in custody in Liverpool not so long ago, Mzee Mohammed.
Pap there is loads of injustice to black people, far to much to post on here. Iâm not saying that injustice is not across the board, but the ethnic minorities get far more discrimination for sure. Unjustified force!
Iâm not even sure if anyone is arguing hereâŚ
Ok Iâll start, I donât agree with you, from what I can see Iâm not sure if people arenât not arguing. So there.
Er, if you wish to apply for the post of the bloke who argues that black is white just to get attention, Iâm afraid that post is currently filled, and has a short waiting list.
These threads always get a little embarrassing for ignorant fucks whoâve spent most of their lives growing up in sunny Hampshire.
No I was just being flippant on a reasonably serious discussion thread. You can blame Bearsy, he has warped my fragile little mind
I think it shows the huge problems there are with race issues, when you see the amount of white English people on the protest.
âUnite Against Racismâ.
Has anyone done any stats on how many posts it takes for a new thread to go off topicâŚget back on topicâŚfor Bearsy to drag it down a notchâŚPap to go all left wingâŚBletch to mention Brew Dog* âŚand for someone to actually post something about the Saints that makes sense and is accurate? If not someone should dammit!
*allegedly the bast brewery in the worldâŚnot
Lol Pap the riots really were literally just looting and criminality. It might not be normal or healthy for a society but it wasnât part of some grand poltiical movement.
However - regarding the âAll Lives Matterâ slogan - it does come off as a little bit snide regardless of how its intended. In a vacuum itâs obviously a perfectly positve/neutral statement but in context, its essentially an appeal to ignore variances in how different races are treated. Its a rhetorical âshut downâ and a bit of a straw-man by stealth in that itâs designed to mischaracterise the BLM slogan as claiming some kind of black superiority.
Did the Chinese and Indian population join in or was this an exclusive riot?
Why did Mark Duggan carry a firearm?
I had quite a long reply typed out but my hotel WiFi dropped out .and lost the lot.
in summary:
- regardless of how he died he was a wrong-un who lived by the sword and if he hadnât been taken out by the police would in the fullness of time died by the sword. Forget the mealy mother comments that it was racism or society against him, he could have conformed, played the system and done well if he had the drive to do so. He didnât choose to, Ffs
Oh, just to add, I feel desperately sad for his family.
Saints have not bought anyone today, so I think we should all be worried Watford will thrash us next week

Technically, I agree that criminality is a reasonable description for what went on. People were committing criminal acts, so youâre covered.
It doesnât really answer any questions though. We could refer to it all as âstuffâ, and we wouldnât really be that better educated than we are now.
Indeed, it might prompt the question, why did this âstuffâ happen?
I know plenty of wrongâuns. Even theyâre not wrongâuns all the time, mostly when theyâre skint. I think there are a number of elements to the riots. The legitimate spark, the contagion into the middle class. Criminality just doesnât do it for me. I feel that there are further questions to be asked.
I wouldnât do it. Why would someone else?

Upvoted for this, and Iâll refrain from language thatâs too provocative. All Iâll say is that the appears-as-white experience has been pretty easy from an authorities point of view, particularly when you have a surname that is commonly perceived as English. Iâve been stopped by the rozzers twice in my life, both times deserved, have never been attacked by someone on account of my race, and have never felt that Iâve missed a job interview because of it either.
White peeps really donât have a clue, and when they say stuff like All Lives Matter, it somewhat overlooks the fact that black parents have to tell their kids to be wary of the authorities, with some justification.
