🤪 2019 General Election Discussion :gov:

Can I ask what the last several posts have to do with the thread? Can’t you guys just make a thread where anyone can post any childish insult/comment that the rest of us can ignore?

Given the election is over, this one is an obvious candidate…

… but fear not, Pap will be along soon to agree with you and make out as if he had nothing to do with any of it :kissing_closed_eyes::joy:

Thanks for posting this, @tigger .

But it would help enormously if you would FLAG the posts that you feel don’t belong here.

Gents, as this is such an emotive subject, let’s try to keep the obscure banter to a minimum, pls.

You started it telling the rotundso that he was unfunny! :kissing_closed_eyes:

That’s not obscure humour, that’s just massively and objectively hilarious.

Well done.

But how many times have I told you not to swear?

Come on, exactly how many times?

What’s the frequency Kenneth?

Sorry, never been that good at reporting things, usually just scroll on by. As my school reports used to say, must try harder

Replying to @saintbletch’s Christmas thread post here, as it doesn’t really sit there. Link to original post.

Your post seemed to indicate that I might not have the same empathy for people that are homeless as you do. I’m not sure where you’ve got that from.

I am sad as fuck about the state of our streets. I am angry as fuck at so called progressives for keeping that going for another five years.

The claim about not being a sociopath is therefore brilliant in that context. You have consigned the British public to another five years of Tory governance for your consensual sociopath ideal that staying in the EU was better than serving democracy.

You gave Keir and co the backup they needed to embark on this electorally disastrous policy of swerving the result of a referendum - and most of you cheered Benn’s act, or at the very least, got upset when it was referred to as a Surrender Act.

If that is not the behaviour of sociopaths, then it’s the behaviour of simpletons incapable of predicting the fucking obvious.

Watching this election was like watching a car crash in slow motion. I have been predicting the outcome since Labour u-turned on the second referendum. I am not happy to be right.

I’m just surprised so many people got their call so spectacularly wrong, and hope we have some sensible people at the wheel in the run up to the next election, because all you ā€œgood peopleā€ have achieved is to put some very dodgy people in power.

Kill the thread

No amount of autopsy is going to change the fact that Labour blew it.

Suggest we start looking forward, ie getting an opposition that can holdBoris’ feet to the fire

Opinions.

No facts.

It’s not what arch Remainer Paul Mason. On his numbers, the ratio of Labour voters lost is 8/3.

The eight component switched because of the u-turn on the referendum. The three part of that ratio switched because of Corbyn.

Mason’s got every reason in the world to reverse that ratio, and was fierce in his criticism of Corbyn on other matters.

If he is convinced that Brexit was the decisive factor, I wonder why you’re not.

Of course Labour blew it. They blew it the moment they chose to put the second referendum on the manifesto.

They panicked in the later stages of the election and started offering even more retail policy (when 2017’s was just fine).

The question to ask is whether the arch Remainers on the shadow cabinet planned to blow it in advance, or somewhat less likely, were so fucking stupid that they didn’t realise taking democracy off the table is a pretty bad fucking move.

53% of the ā€˜people’ did NOT vote for any party putting Brexit As the primary agenda - so go figure that out. The fact that or FPTP shit fest means it’s all fucked is NOT a rationale to defend how those 53% voted

You have spent 3 years telling people to accept the ā€˜will of the people’ as it was a democratic choice… Well the current democratic choice does not support the decisions made by this Government and yet you are still bleating on about democracy? Your brass neck could support the Houses of Parliament …

You now feel the need to blame anyone who voted Remian and still has that opinion for the shit we will get from Boris et al… the only folks to blame are those too fucking stupid to realise what they were voting for … I’ll be a cunt all you like but that is a simple truth… many people in this country voted for Brexit because they believe immigration, austerity, food banks and all those issues were as a result of being In the EU .,. because cunts spread lies that it was… sadly they will reap what they sowed and will have only those spreading the shit and themselves to blame…

Yet you will blame those who tried to point this shit out… as I said, no fucking sense of irony at all… your problem seems to be you can’t handle the truth that decent honest people have been fucking lied to and made stupid decisions on that basis… you deny it because they voted the same as your ā€˜principles’ caused you to. As I said, call me a cunt all you like but it does not change the fact that we have Brexit and a Tory Government because some people voted that way out ignorance or out believing the shit spread by The Brexit and Tory campaign…

… same as some believe Corbyn is an anti-Semite… misinformation spread by cunts with a self interest … you agree with that yeah? No different with the shit spread on Brexit but that led to a result you wanted so are quicker to forget…

I think you’re making a tremendous assumption there.

I am part of that 53% you mention, and yet I want a no deal Brexit.

I had to hold my nose a bit to vote Labour. There are likely plenty of people in those new Tory seats that wanted Brexit but could never countenance putting a Tory in.

For someone that demands that people look at the nuance, you seem to have conjured an extremely simplistic and high level proposition.

The point you are missing (and it’s a pretty big one) is that I am not on about those who did NOT change their voting pattern because of Brexit, but those that did… those 3-4 mil probably a lot less who decide the election… by placing Brexit ahead if everything else…

As I said this is NOT about those who did not… this country’s overnment is always decided by a couple of million folk who don’t have a fucking clue as to the consequences of their actions

I don’t see it that way.

Sure, stupid people vote. It’s the cost of universal suffrage, baby - but it’s a much cheaper deal than only allowing ā€œexpertsā€ to vote.

Besides, I think they rather cancel each other out. You cannot be suggesting that all stupid people vote Tory, not in an election campaign in which progressive forces thought calling everyone they didn’t agree with a bigot was a winner.

There are stupid people voting for all parties.

So if they cancel each other out, who’s left to make the real decision?

No, stupid people vote as they are told… it’s how Blair got elected… thanks to Murdoch and his ā€˜advise’ to those same 2-3 mil … it’s just never very palletable to suggest this or accept it when they can vote on your side… but they say the truth is never easy to swallow

Then how come the stupid people didn’t listen to you when you told them what you thought?

Smart fellows like yourself should be able to convince people, especially stupid people, of the merits of your case.

I am beginning vto think you are one of them… just how do you think I am influencing 3 mil peoples ? Are you fucking serious?:joy:

As mentioned, I don’t hold public office or do social media, unlike your twitter self I am not under any delusion that I must let my voice be heard, or that there are somehow millions wanting to listen? :joy:

It’s really very simple and I feel your pain I really do… you voted for something knowingly would see the most vulnerable in our society worse off, would inevitable empower the right, and see us bending over to take one huge arse fuck from the Trump and his gimps… so are desperate try and blame those who did not vote for it… :joy:

Who said owt about millions?

I just want to know how many people you’ve got over to your side of the argument with your accusations of bigotry and stupidity.

I’d also be very interested in knowing how many Tory voters you’ve created.
