Their social conscience is so powerful that they feel compelled to use tax schemes to reduce their tax liabilities via limited companies or film partnerships or image rights
If their social conscience was that strong they would push to be paid as an employee and shun any tax avoidance schemes
Been meaning to write something like this for a while.
You guys and the Twitterati all express your amazement at how people can hold a different opinion to yourselves. How they seem to ignore logic.
Be that the logic of 9 years of destruction of British Society & Services or the Logic that a Commie Terrorist will take charge.
Anger and bemusement is expressed and indignation fills the air. Social Media wonders how / why.
Yet, you all know that opinions never get changed by SM debate. You have seen it every week with Bazza holding his opinion. With others walking away from here because one or more posters take an aggressive stance.
Fact is, VERY few people respond to having their belief systems challenged. The only REAL way to influence the outcome tomorrow is in the turnout. Labour needs it to be sub zero, wet and windy to keep the Blue Rinse brigade away.
Tories just need their teams to turn up in their 4x4âs to ferry everyone to the polling station.
If you couldnât change Bazzaâs opinion/views how will you change a Nations?
Sad but - It is what it isâŠ
I havenât voted in 26 years. Until then I was a staunch Tory Pro-Business voter. If I was at home now, Iâd vote Lib Dem (tactical).
I actually hope the Commies win.
Saw Professor Robert Tombs on Newsnight last night. Watch the couple of minutes from from 14:15 on. It takes 4 repeated questions of âIs it important that Boris Johnson tells the truth?â before he gives a begrudging acknowledgement.
When challenged with âOpinions and facts are very different things.â
He responds with
âAre they?â
Now if this was a lecture in philosophy or logic then Iâd accept this, but some things are surely irrefutable?
As a nation we have now arrived at our own versions of the truth.
Agree to an extent but social media is a massive influencer - a former and changer of opinions.
I agree that one to one interactions, where individuals challenge individuals, are destined to end in stalemate, anger and further entrenched views.
But social media and the exposure to information will turn out to be one of the most critical influences in this election - not just turnout. Specifically the targeting of small, self-defining communities with ads, editorial, opinion pieces or fake news designed to push the buttons of that specific community.
The great majority of people I speak to pay very limited attention to the media, mainstream or otherwise, when it comes to politics, because of too many years of spin (as it used to be), misinformation and lies.
Ditto mysterious Adverts on social media. Many 40 something mates of mine donât even have social media accounts (itâs not just âOAPsâ).
I know plenty of people who have watched the live debates, quizzed their local candidates, read manifestos (or at least summaries) and use these to help them decide, where needed. The media are mostly ignored.
Thereâs no logic in the commie terrorist claim. Support for one side or the other is more religious faith based for so many and thatâs what the media are for(repetition without evidence) which leads to this
âReasoning will never make a Man correct an ill Opinion, which by Reasoning he never acquiredâ
If anyone doubts that ask why the bbc, itv and all the rest havenât got the basic understanding of how to do their job correctly, unless of course they are doing it deliberately(they are).
Hereâs a good summing up of whatâs been going on since âthe boy on floorâ and Daniel Sheridan of the Yorkshire Evening Post understands how to do his job correctly, so will never get near the bbc.
