Remain off the table. As a settled matter, it is undemocratic to ask people to vote on it again.
Most people could live with a confirmatory vote between no deal and whatever deal Labour come up with, including me. Passes the democratic test, and also shuts up the wankers that three years later, still say people didnât know what Brexit they were voting for.
Finally, a bit of positivity, which youâre never going to get while Lady Thornberry and Keir Starmer are anywhere near the front bench.
So thatâs a long winded no.
But still you persist with a fraud that was never offered.
The only people to blame if the tories remain in power, are the selfish, the racist and most of all, the idiots that fell for the lies and now promote them.
Lies, lies every day, but still some willingly nod along.
Even Monbiot is complaining, but some close their eyes and ears and just shout the lies louder.
No matter how often you shout it, it will still be a lie.
Keep wankingđ
Your delusional and this is getting very dull.
Iâll ignore your fantasy from now on.
Come back with some facts, if you have anything to say on the subject.
You know, what was offered and by whom.
It really is shocking. We have the BBC political editor, Laura Kuenssberg eagerly re tweeting the lie that Hancock was punched in the face by a âleft wing activistâ at Leeds infirmary, which was a desperate attempt to deflect from Johnsonâs car crash performance yesterday. When we have the BBC political editor campaigning hard for the Tories during an election campaign something is seriously wrong.
If the people of this country are so blinkered (an fucking stupid) so as to put Brexit ahead of 14 million people in poverty (according to a UN report) affecting 1 in 3 children, (a fucking disgrace) and that the UN suggests is DIRECT result of austerity measures and that these measures were unnecessarily strict and long (and have continued) because its Tory ideology as opposed to economic necessity, then sadly we are fuckedâŠ
⊠The Tory right and their collective Brexiteer fringe wankers must be laughing themselves stupid at how they have suckered so many into the trap, making Brexit so important to democracy, sovereignty, immigration⊠blag blah blah⊠bollocks, all of which pale into insignificance when you consider the biggest issues of poverty in this country brought about not by EU membership but by Tory principlesâŠ
Brexiteers, you have been conned. Brexiteers, you have placed your ideological utopian ideals ahead of practical realities of social justice, care and responsibility. Anyone, who is voting purely to âget Brexit doneâ at the expense of kids in food banks, fucking shame on you.
Sadly i absolutely agree with you, it clearly is not just banter. Ashworth is a naive fool, this âfriendâ he was âjoshingâ with is an ex Conservative MP, now an adviser, apparently with links to the security services. Clearly miked up and leading Ashworth with these questions. Iâm not sure of the legality of secretly taping private conversations and then leaking them to a third party. Alistair Campbell has come out today defending Ashworth, clearly furious at what he calls using underhand tricks, (he should know all about that), sitting on the recording and then releasing it to Guido Fawkes at a time when it will do the most damage to Labour. For Labour read Ashworth. Some context here, Ashworth is an unreconstructed Blairite, indeed their preferred choiceto replace Corbyn. He can kiss that goodbye now, so every cloud and all that. He was given the health brief in an attempt by Corbyn, trying to do the right thing, to be inclusive to all wings of the party. And is rewarded for this by rank disloyalty. Ashworth will not be forgiven for this in the wider Labour party. The lesson here for all Labour ministers and candidates is that they must assume that any private conversations they may have with anyone remotely connected to the Conservatives will probably be secretly recorded using state of the art technology. Disgraceful that it should come to this, but such is the state of politics in this country today, and a shocking indictment of the depths the Conservative Party will plumb in their dishonesty and desperation to cling on to power at all costs.
Thanks for the background. Agree with almost all you have said, except that the lesson here, for a shadow minister, is actually to get on board with your leader and your party and fight until the end of Thursday, not moan (to whoever, miked up or not) about how crap things are
Iâd have some sympathy with your views if youâd had a prior history of being concerned about the poor. Iâve never really seen those sentiments advanced without you somehow tying it them to Brexit.
Your point about the UN producing the poverty report is interesting, except possibly not in the way you think. Iâd be asking why it took the UN to point this out.
Of course, I already know the answer. The EU is imposing forced austerity in the Eurozone countries, especially Greece.
It would not have a solid case to make the argument.
Prior to brexit, i was never one for the more political threads⊠BUT your assumption is wrong⊠Then again you are often very quick to assume nonsense about folks
It did not⊠this has been known for some time by many, I was merely referring to it because its Author was on speaking publicly about it today and because it adds validation (written by an Australian academic)
Very âPapâ Like response - an arrogance of assumption and so often misguided and inaccurate⊠(see point 1)
There remains an issue, no one has said its ideal, but these countries were free to sign up to the single currency, or not (when arguably their economies were not ready they should not have been acceptedâŠbut imagine the outcry had they been refusedâŠ) BUT we are not talking about Greece⊠we are talking about the UK which has NOT had austerity forced upon us by the EU , (yet you would think so if you believed all the shit spread by Brexiteers during the referendum)âŠ, its been our Government policy ⊠so you need to keep up and not try your usual distraction techniquesâŠ
Would be interested to know why Brexit is such an obsession with some they are prepared to sacrifice so much social responsibility to âget it doneâ - like I said, those voting that way should be ashamedâŠ
Brexit is going to remain an obsession until it is sorted. As for individual voters, youâd need to ask them.
Personally, I think we swerve it at our peril. This was the biggest democratic vote for something in British history. If we donât implement that vote, it simply confirms what the public have long suspected, that the whole shebang is a bit of a farce.
Labourâs position on the issue pretty much confirms it.
