The photo in The Mail’s front page exclusive about Starmer eating a curry with a beer, breaking lockdown rules, gleefully re-tweeted by ridiculous Dorries and other assorted Johnson groupies, was actually a photo of Starmer having a beer and a curry with Frank Dobson, with Dobson photoshopped out. Frank Dobson died in 2019! Oh dear.

This was mentioned in something recently, I think in a Kuenssberg piece on the BBC website. Her opinion was that he won’t, because there’s a difference between getting done for it and not resigning, and saying someone else ought to resign because they got done for it and then getting done for it yourself. Starmer has already effectively dug his own grave if he’s found to have committed a similar offence to the one he said Johnson should go for.
I bet Major’s idea of foreplay was a twenty minute lecture on fiscal integrity then going in dry.

Did the right wing of the Labour Party really think that colluding with the far right press to smear Corbyn on a daily basis for two years would do them any good? Naive fools, you reap what you sow. You would like to think that after this they will learn their lesson, but I doubt it. The Daily Heil, who are basically calling the shots, running the country to all intents and purposes are really piling on, their latest is to inform their avid readers that Starmer is a the hypocrite because he supported lockdown, wheras Johnson didn’t so he was just showing how principled he is. They also have a large splash about “Beergate” being worse than Watergate, and Starmer putting Nixon to shame. Really. Roared on by the majority of their readers.
This is a government who have abrogated responsibiility for governing honestly, and democratically, propped up by a far right press owned by Non domiciled, mostly foreign Oligarchs, who are absolutely no different to the propaganda organs in Russia that they are always screaming about. Russian style government is what we have now.
