Exactly so. The gun lobby will continue to push for teachers to be armed.
Think Bidenâs reaction is probably his best ever speech. Seemed heartfelt and utterly spot on. Doubt anyone who should listen will do so.

Sadly the psychology is quite simple - there are those with perhaps âless understandingâ who have for years been fuelled by a paranoia that there are those who wish to undermine and attack the American way of life. That the American dream should be defended by whatever means and with the âfreedomâ to do so without any ridiculous notions or social responsibility⌠or true inclusivity. They donât get the rich irony that their ideas of âfreedomâ only really apply to white immigrants as opposed to all âAmericansâ
Add to this that the gun lobby and arms industry actively funds politicians, and continues to market firearms as a ârightâ to empowerment, appealing to testosterone fuelled junkies⌠and you have a stalemate, a situation that no matter how many atrocities occur, no matter how many innocent folks die, nothing will change. They are long past the point of no return, unless they legislate the sale of ammunition to draconian levels - and then that would simply be repealed when Republicans returned to power⌠The only escape for them from this is a constitutional amendment outlawing private industry funding and lobbying of politicians⌠will sadly never happen.

So how many brave souls would storm a barricaded school with a pistol when you know the cunt on the other side has an assault rifle
US cops are armed to the teeth, theyâre not walking around with just a revolver. Itâs also been policy for the first law enforcement officers on the scene to try and confront active shooters evern since Columbine over 20 years ago. These guys should be trained on how to deal with this situation. Unfortunately from the footage released they appear to have just been standing around antagonising the parents.
Lucky another armed civilian wasnât driving by and thought she was a mass shooter.

Bit of a simplification Phil but in my experience they fall into the political divide, another simplification: Republican - For Guns, Democrat - For Gun Control.
I donât think even Democrat think repealing the 2nd Amendment will happen. It came about when America was a wild a lawless state, as it is today. 
Even so, running into a building when a mad bastard with an assault rifle is blazing away take a fair amount of cojones. I donât care how many guns or how much training I had, itâs the sort of situation that makes you think twice
