So, @pap was talking to me about his thinking about the Soviet at the Cup Final and I can say that he has stuck to his lines all along.
I even said so in the elections thread, the members of the Soviet are there to suggest new ideas and features that they think will enhance the site. So if @bearsy wants to get his “Champange Room” (whatever the fuck that actually is!!) then he just needs to suggest it and the Soviet then collectively decide if it’s a good idea or not.
We then take it to the site “owners” for them to implement, @pap please correct me if this last bit is wrong.
So come on the @tokyo-saint what are your ideas for the site that would improve it. There’s a PM system and myself and @fowllyd are listening…
To put soe more context I think @pap came up with the idea after implementing some new features (the tagging for example) that some people didn’t see the need for.
BTW can I now be Mr Pink please?

tokyos has got a lot of gr8 ideas but he thinks it would be better if we all discuss them in Bear’s Champagne Room, because the pm system is more for distrubuting pornography + discussing which frm members you would most like to Bang

Idea number 1 - a decent search function that allows you to search for posts e.g. the Soviet. Then we can find out if it is a position of great power and responsibility as promised or if it is just a suggestion box. This should be significantly better than the current search facility which gives some posts with soviet mentioned (mainly from the last hour) and other stuff like soviet hat from Amazon.
Idea number 2 - A rule that pap is not permitted to just answer a question with a question. If this is going to work the people should get answers. We should discuss stuff about the site, not a question answered with a question, followed up by me moaning about that, followed up by pap asking a question so as to give an insult, followed by me calling pap a knob etc.
Idea number 3 - Approval of the cider steam VIP rooms. A login area for members that is not available to the public. Mod powers to bear as it is his room. We can call this area the puppet show or something like that.
Idea number 4 - More interesting news links like this: Camel Phil.

To be fair pap mentioned a possible “subforum” (geek-speak for “Champagne Room”) quite near the start of the Soviet talk if I remember correctly, so I’m almost 100% sure it’s something he’ll be working on as we speak.
All I ask is you copy and paste the most sexy stuff to the main board once in a while so us plebs have something, anything, to whack off over.

Soz TMO suggestions appear to be for soviets only. This appears to be our only role and perk, I am not giving it up. If you have a suggestion, may I suggest you write to your local soviet? They then may or may not pretend it was their idea and may or may not put it forward to the powers that be for it to be ignored from there.

I underderstood the soviet to be the voice of the people … a servant to the membership, to collate and convey the ideas/complaints of the masses, to the ruling elite.

OK, that makes sense. In that case my last post wasn’t a suggestion, merely the ravings of a scumbag, low-rent, shit-on-the-shoe forum member. If anyone on the Soviet manages to make any sense out of these stupid, pathetic ramblings and has their own idea off the back of those pointless digressions then please feel free to pass them off as your own.
