I’ve loved The Pernice Brothers for as long as they’ve been recording 25 odd years…Joe Pernice is a great songwriter…

Always makes visually entertaining videos…great live stage presence too. New album out next month.

This came up on shuffle when I was walking the dog this morning… @scotty came to mind at the beginning…redolent of tuning a piano…but had to stop and listen…

Same man…

Saw these guys from Seattle a few weeks back - nice mix of guitar rock and americana…

Recommended by Mark Radcliffe last week. French band. Great album ā€œThe Whole Storyā€.

Loving it, kinda cross between Midlake and Grizzly Bear.

If you don’t know Sylvan Esso, you should. Amelia Meath is adorable…

This lockdown concert was a Sylvan Esso highlight…

Had to blast this around the office.

BBC Four Sessions

Nick Lowe

From 2007 at the LSO St Luke’s in that there Lunnun.

Marvellous - plays a load of genres- nothing pop star about it - just songs played honestly- really recommended

Looking older than I thought - he’s actually only 75 now…

Rarely I see a gig on the telly box where I know I wish I was there.

Is that the acoustic session, from the series they did? I remember Van Morrison did another.

I think it was - no wall to wall Marshalls and double bass, acoustic guitars, drums, piano etc - but definitely mic’d up.

Worth a watch. Probably on iplayer no doubt

I’ll look it up. If it’s the one I’m thinking of, I actually went to the trouble of recording it and copying to audio CD when it was first broadcast years ago.

Watched all of it even though by the end I was busting for a wee….

We’re seeing an ELO tribute band in the new year. Rather looking forward to it. :+1::sunglasses:

I was REALLY pumped to see ELO at Glasto one year.

(And Top just after iirc)

They were both utterly lifeless and boring. SO disappointing
