:watfordfc: Watford v Saints :saints: (PL)

So we’ve improved then? Our team has got better? Maybe the teams elsewhere are shitter?

The wheels have fallen off bar one thing, Hassenhutl, without him we’re fucked with that team, I have no faith in the board…

Read @lifeintheslowlane’s post.

Very slowly. Take in the facts. Cross-reference them with a history of selling players for mostly exorbitant sums and how the departure of those players might have affected results on the pitch.

I know you’re upset because we’ve been toyed with at the whims of opaque foreign owners, but you also need to realise its not your club, and bitching isn’t going to change that.

Why don’t you get the in-laws to use some of that stolen Nazi gold to buy the club for you? That impressively muscled German you met on Hitler’s private Chilean beach can lug it over for you.

So you’re saying selling the players and the policy isn’t working? Read slowly and understand this as you’re a padowan in football, that philosophy isn’t sustainable, sell your best players and eventually your luck will run out, who have we bought and replaced them with?

Racist

Burn him!

Think that’s just his twat-face. He’s had it for a while tbh.

What do we do when our best players go on strike to get a move?

“…Trouble is we’re all sat behind keyboards with a hot topic of which bar we’re going to meet in and/or who will be first on the “It’s Friday night and I’m cunted” thread. Not sure I’ve ever seen Bertie on there…”

Ummm…and? you’ve lost me there @Saint-CD

Have a drink and think about it. If that doesn’t work, have another(repeat as needed).
An answer will come to you

Plus players like Clyne going for virtual peanuts because they won’t sign a new contract. @Barry-Sanchez acts like the players have no agency. They are hugely powerful and can largely set their own terms if they’re good enough.

I wonder if Clyney regrets his move. I know I do.

What would you suggest that the club hasn’t tried already, Jedi Football Master?

To my knowledge, the board in recent years has:-

  • Got top dollar for mediocre talent, such as Lallana.
  • Convinced good players to stay on, at least for another season
  • Held our most prized asset to his contract. He wouldn’t play for us for six months and we ended up selling him. Again, top dollar.

At the end of the day, these players will still be going elsewhere because of our relatively lowly stature. That is supporting any team that isn’t one of the well-monied behemoths that have sprung up in the football’s money age.

Get used to it, or put a fucking Liverpool shirt on.

You simply don’t understand, selling quality key players all the time affects the whole team and continuity, we’re effectively being punished for being successful, this isn’t about selling, its about the WHOLE procurement policy. Buy players older that other clubs won’t want and have youth and foreign imports, just stop with the total moneyball.
Digest padowan.

Point of order @Barry-Sanchez

According to Pap’s Big Book Of Sotonians Rules:

“… Any post with Caps lock enabled, in at least one word, is deemed null and void. Any perceived advantage is passed to the poster you are responding to…”

It will be interesting to see what the new “uninspiring” head of recruitment chap will add to our apparently dismal recruitment policy, or if we now develop a new one? Especially since almost all of the old guard have left

The concept that we could have held onto the best centre back I have seen in a generation is somewhat amusing

So we should fill the team with players that no other clubs want, to avoid selling any? So, lots of players like Fraser then, but in the first team? Yep great plan.
