VVD - will he stay or will he go?

I’m inclined to agree with you Phil, but I certainly hope I am wrong. Not just because he is a top player and not just because I fucking detest Liverpool.

Depending on how this all plays out, this could be a landmark case of sorts and is far bigger than the player and both clubs in my opinion.

If he ends up going to Liverpool in this tranfser window then I will be incredibly pissed off. After the blatant tapping up, subsequent Premier League ‘investigation’, public shaming/apology and offical dropping of interest it will be an absolute joke. If it happens then it speaks volumes about player power and also the attitude of the governing bodies to blatant disregard to the rules. The arseholes (in general) would win.

If FIFA, the ultimate governing body of football are so obviously corrupt then what hope have we got for every institution that operates under their jurisdiction.

Saints have an opportunity to stand firm and make an example of Liverpool. They are in such a strong position, having your in demand, best player on a FIVE year contract. Of all the times to cave and ‘take the money’, I don’t believe this is one of those. Otherwise we will continue to concede over and over again and be bullied by those bastards.

The longer we don’t see him feature in any friendlies the longer this situation will drag out. Push come to shove I think the transfer request will come eventually. If we don’t budge then he will do it at that point. It isn’t make or break yet though as there is still 6 weeks of the window to go.

The thing fans miss is they are emotive.

Liverpool made a business mistake. In fact a series of them.

Starting with the expectation they could get him for peanuts through using their standard tapping up technique.

Because they got it wrong, as far as Saints are concerned it’s about the money now. As a business deal Klopp dropped his pants and bent over and said don’t bother with Lube.

Christ I would rather he went to the skates than the scouse but I am not going to melt down. We’ll have someone lined up to replace him that we’ve never heard of

Just to clarify, have I missed any comment from VVD about wanting to leave?

Because other than the ramblings of Sun journalists, taxi drivers, bar owners and golfing buddies, I’m not aware of any concrete evidence that suggests VVD is on strike, sulking, demanding a transfer or refusing to train.

I’m sure he’s tempted by offers, and he may well leave - but at the moment, shall we await some actual facts?

If Van Dick is so desperate for Champs League Football, why not sell him back to Celtic?

100% sure fire CL footie each season, still gets to play for a whopper of a cuntoid as his manager, who can regale him with tales of how to tap up Saints players properly … and we save on the resale fee back to Celtic!!

Trouble is I don’t suppose Celtic have 60 -70 million of our English pounds down the back of the settee :slight_frown:

Quite a few people eyeing up a Sakho plus cash as good deal on SteveWeb … fuck em.

How can LFC value Sakhoschit at 30 million yet wont let him near the team and rather play people out of position to cover?

Do they see him as carrying baggage or bad influence?

Fuck them, any softening on the issue from us has to be seen as failure. We hold all the cards … 5 years to run on cntract, finacially able to turn down high bids.

IF it does transpire that he ends up in that scabby morally bankrupt club then I suggest The FA / PL / UEFA … whoever has to reopen the case and impose transfer ban on LFC and (if he doesn’t hand in transfer) cancel his % rights of the fee seeing as he has acted illegally against us and thus loses the right to a “loyality bonus”.

Tbf Eric.70 mil from the Scousers & them getting a 2 year transfer ban right after would be funneh

According to a Steveweb ITK merchant, VVD was told yesterday that he was staying and has now gone on strike. He wont be playing any part of the Brentford match and is training alone. Make of it what you will.

Why does this keep happening to me? What have I done to deserve it? Why do I keep convincing myself that this one is different, that he has integrity, that his personal hygiene is beyond reproach? Lying, cheating, stinking scumbag, just like the rest of them.

My bird just posted that on FB, sry bit off topic.

So…if this is true what would VVD’s justifiction for going on strike be and what would be his reasons if he were quizzed by The Premier League/FA ? In the current situation it would be the worst thing he could do and if they had any brains the last thing LFC would want.

Scenario: VVD goes on strike. Saints forced by this to review their “not selling intent” and LFC open negociations after publicly stating they would no longer persue an interest.

The Premier League/FA could no longer sit on their hands as that would be seen as rewarding “Tapping-Up”.

Just can’t see it.

If he’s on strike…leave him training on his own until the window closes. I’m betting he will not want to sit out the season twiddling his thumbs.

Will his value go down…not a chance.

Fucking moody Dutchmen - they are all the same. :lou_angry:

Hearing the same from 3 sources.

But won’t put in transfer request only wants the money by look of it.

Oh well, another twat to add to our long list of twats. It would seem that the anti-twat filter in the black box could do with replacing.

If he goes there will be trouble, if he stays it will be double. The indecision is bugging me.

If it is true that he has been told he isnt going then hopefully that is the end of the matter. He can pull a strop all he likes but the club hold all the cards and if he is on strike and refuses play play he cant keep it up forever. Apart from looking a twat to all and sundry he will also do his international aspirations no good.

Force a transfer request and get shot. Like spoiled kids the club cant completly cave.

Rush on now for a top CB so we are not stuck with CB 3 and CB 4. For a well run club it seems strange that the January problem of fonte leaving and VVD absent hasnt been sorted.

I suppose in defence Les has been over exited by his promotion. Kat exited by her bonus. Not sure Ralf has got an excuse apart from our Club Chairmam blaming Les cause he doesnt understand football.

Trouble with this is that we lose our appeal to the next Van Dijk or Mane as a good stepping-stone and end up not having them play for us for two years whilst we make a massive profit off them.

It is whether he rocks the apple cart or creates a toxic environment for the rest of the squad, that will come in to play now (assuming that is true).

It was always my concern that he would do this and it allows the club to sell him and claim it was in everyone’s best interests to do so. Even though they didn’t want to sell.

Even so, I still feel we should stand firm and not concede. Otherwise it provides positive reinforcement to these spoiled arse holes that if they kick up enough of a fuss they will eventually get what they want.

As bad as it is to say, I am actually at the point where my desire for him to remain with Saints is significantly dwarfed in comparison to my desire for him NOT to join Liverpool.

And just as soon as I have finished typing the above… a check on Sky Sports and… Oh FFS.

VAN DIJK SEEKING EXIT

Some big news from Southampton as ** Virgil van Dijk ** has said he wants to leave and is not in a fit “psychological” state to play, according to manager Mauricio Pellegrino.

The defender has been linked with a move to Liverpool , and new Saints boss Pellegrino is quoted by the_ Daily Telegraph_ as saying: "The boy said that he is not available to play because he wants to leave. This is the decision.

“I had to say, ‘If you don’t want to be involved because you don’t feel okay then you have to train alone until this period of time is over.”

Asked if Van Dijk would leave, Pellgerino said: “I repeat that the club said not. I hope that Virgil can review his feelings because you know that today a player is big business. Not just the player but behind them is a lot of interests.

“I don’t want to say too much but we need the player, 100 per cent. I want to help the squad, I want to help Virgil, but we need a player, and I repeat, involved in every training session, not just with the body but with the mind on the pitch with the rest of the players.”
