VVD - will he stay or will he go?

Thought you were going all swfeb on my arse. Really saying it was odd. Really odd, infact fkn odd. Only reason I thought you had the wrong end of the stick is that I wasn’t sure of the connection. I have a terrible habit of being unable to addresss one thing without extrapolation into three others. I like it here, I’m not alone.

You speak for yourself @areloa-grandee

A little known fact, it is incredibly simple to post a snippet and say “Rumour”.

That kind of passses on possibilities and doesn’t imply attention seeking.

ITK would relate to stuff that actually you could have sources on.

For example Takeovers.

Let’s say X is looking to buy a football club. They would normally have contacted Barry the Briefcase (RIP) or in reality a more profesional organisation to do some research.

Example - Pap is a billionaire from all those google ads and decides to buy the club. So what does he do? Call directory enquiries for the switchboard number? the ticket office?

No first he has to find out whether the club is up for sale. Then he may need to know how much it will cost. Then he will need to know how much money he is going to have to actually invest to build the monkey petting zoo and pay to keep VVD in the reserves. Also he may well buy the Shares for 200 Mil but what about the loans? Didn’t Kat guarantee them?

Basically he needs to do SOME research.

In the old days that was easy, give that Orville bloke a call at Seymour Pierce who kind of did all these things, but like Barry that option has long gone.

So in an acquisition/takeover, they will have to do SOME research - it can’t be found on Twitter, they have to have SOMETHING credible before they actually get through the Operator to Kat.

The days of Hey Rupert, we’ve got a nice bottle of Chardonnay and want to buy the club, are long gone, same as Hey Kat I am worth 10 billion and want to buy the club, how much do you want for it.

That approach is as out of date as much of Fools & Horses these days.

Anyway, the point is people have to do research in that area so they contact specialist Brokers, Agents, Accountants and Lawyers. They would normally assign a research team to get to tyhe point where they could determine the risks/rewards of a bid. It is from THOSE areas that snippets emerge.

So coming back to Lander Sports… Didn’t even need to get a leak about the deal, simply needed an international finance employee who is a football fan to explain the massive impact that law change in China was having on the Construction Industry and Mega Property Developments and used google.

Meanwhile the Twitterati believe it is all about the paperwork and Kat changing her mind.

There are a number of groups conducting initial research into the business opportunity that could be created by Inner City Redevelopment projects. Anyone who does not understand the role a stadium could play in making that a financial success rants on Twitter.

But do not get your new thread running, because no matter how accurate and in depth the research would be, you lot fooked it up by voting for Brexit, and NO foreign investor with Brains (ie that we would want) (and Dollars) is about to pump 200-800 million into Property in the UK right now.

And the VVD saga is the dance. It is a stuck record. We’ve all heard it before. Many of you lot fell for it (again). He’s gone serves any new kit buyers right if they fell for the con and put VVD on the back of their shirts

And this is why he will be sold and the way that football feels about its customers

Hes not included in the squad for the France tour

Neither is Alex McCarthy.

Cue #meltdown.

#gazzaasbackup

But I thought he was dossing about at Disneyland Paris anyway? What, all of a sudden he doesnt like France? Prick.

Alex McCarthy surely can’t be injured AGAIN?

I just dont get it fatso… why does he not want to ‘play’ against Saint Etienne… I mean given that the two geezers are ugly scrotes, its not like he would have much competition and it seems an attractive proposition?

I hate loathe and despise modern football, the money the lack of improvement in the English game, the expense, the shite atmosphere, the biased media nearly everything.

But I love football so what can I do?

I will raise a glass when it all goes tits up I really will.

Long-term, I’d want to see contract alterations that stop players that announce they’re going on strike from earning their full whack. There is no reason for him not to see out his contract apart from the fact he wants to sign a contract elsewhere.

In the club’s shoes, I’d hold him to it. When he’s in the sixth year of his contract, earning a relative “pittance” in the reserves while salaries elsewhere have rocketed, then perhaps players will finally get the idea that the club won’t be held to ransom by players.

And if that deters someone from coming here in the first place, good. It should.

Ha ha ha!

I’m not sure where your skills would be best suited, Player Recruitment, HR or club PR?!

I think the club should give me a bastard without portfolio role in the manner of Alistair Campbell / Malcolm Tucker

“You may think you’re good, JWP, but Bazza off Sotonians says you can shoot for shite nor kick a ball if your life depended on it, y’wee Pompey bastard!”

They would just change the modus operandi

If it were me…

OK boss, im fit to play

1st game: Whoops own goal. Sorry Boss, bet that wouldn’t of happened if I were at Liverpool

2nd Game: Fuck me, would you believe it, another own goal, who would have thought. Still available for the next game.

3rd game: Ok boss, I won’t score another own goal. Yoshi you daft cunt, that was your man.

So as it stands now, can a player refuse to play for the club he is contracted to, which would put him in breach of that contract, and still be entitled to his wages? I wonder if this has ever been tested in law. Off the top of my head i can’t think of any other job where you could just say to the boss, ‘i can’t be arsed to work for you anymore, i know i have signed a contract of employment but fuck it, stick the contract up your arse. Oh, and by the way, i expect you to keep paying my wages’. What would happen if Southampton stopped paying him while he is refusing to play, could he sue them? I would love to see this argued out in court.

A new week, a new plan - if he’s going, he can fuck off right now.

No pissing about leaving us up shit creek with 48 hours left - man up, or pack your bags and fuck off this week.

And Liverpool, if you are serious, £60m up front and he’s yours - if not, shut the fuck up.

The end.

Ultimately, he is subject to the usual employment law - and most employers would bew within theirrighst to cancel teh contract andin effect sack an employee who refused to work without formal union agreed ballot… especially given the reason is to leave. If the club stops pay, then the club is also in breach of contract - andas such player could leave…Its the problem that we want to retain the contract as its the contract that is worth something, as its what is 'baught out by clubs ‘buying teh player’ ironically not the player… no contract he leaves for free when he wants… of course he could put in aform transfer request so the club would not need to pay out his contract which at 5 years is probably going to be about 20mil! … although that would be negotiated down… The clubsi fucked realy

A nice change from the usual Labour propaganda, however a bit harsh to use bear and his shit job as a weapon against VVD.
