🇬🇧 🥳 VE Day 75th Anniversary

Make sure you clean your house first just in case the bizzies want to come in…

Oh and someone in the next street has made a life size Winston Churchill for their front garden

Rule number 1… and what is it made of?

President laid a wreath, some speeches were spoke.
As pointed out, not something fondly remembered here as they kicked the Nazis out after 6 years and got 40+ years of Commie rule.
Will try and tune in to Auntie Beeb tonight & join in a bit

No idea. Saw it on the local Facebook page.

Mrs BTripz has her equipment out? The neighbours are enjoying it? I bet they are. Mrs BTripz sounds like a good sport.

Bloody hell, she’s as bad as the Ayatollah & her 5 Guys takeout.
What is going on over there?

This is an interesting site. Would be great to have a local version - for local people.

My dad had a more extensive map of that first map. I probably have it somewhere in the loft amongst his Southampton literature collection. I’ll root it out tomorrow.

Their current affairs & journalists can be shit.
But on the BIG occasions, the Beeb can really pull the stops out

Map 2.
I wonder what Bob Kemp did to piss the Krauts off so much?

This one doesn’t show individual bombs but it’s a record of all damage sites (to varying degrees) within the town boundary.

Best viewed on a Laptop for clarity.

During the bombing of The Supermarine Factory my dad was on Peartree Green in charge of a Searchlight Battery.
