:trumpdumb: Trumped!

The only potential silver lining to this disgusting child separation policy is that right wingers across the world realise there is a fuckton of difference between something that sounds good on paper and reality.

I’ll not be holding my breath waiting for the penny to drop.

I’d like to think there’s a silver lining mate. Trump has just bowed under pressure because of GOP pressure and mid term election worries. It’s gone beyond a right wing issue. Trump controls the Republican and is now using the language of Fascism. Not an exaggeration, he’s comparing children to animals and insects.

(They don’t care about crime and want illegal immigrants, no matter how bad they may be, to pour into and infest our Country, like MS-13. They can’t win on their terrible policies, so they view them as potential voters!) This is being tweeted by the POTUS. It’s telling that 3 other conservative commentators on Fox News in the same evening mentioned Mexican children as MS-13. This is not just limited to the US, there is a concerted push for populist far right politics in the EU.

Hmm. Trumps policy is separating children from parents. SB links Putin. Again.

Move along. No agenda to see here.

There’s absolutely no link with US government policy and Russian influence of course, just crazy. So crazy there’s an ongoing criminal investigation.

Not just my Agenda I guess.

I’ve never made that claim.

I think every nation of note is out there looking to advance its national interests. The notion that foreign states might be trying to attain influence in rival states is not a new one, @SaintBristol. It is something that we put serious money into countering during the days of the Iron Curtain. It is something that we put money into now. As a nation, Britain tries to advance its interests by seeking influence elsewhere while trying to limit the attempts of other states to do the same here.

Of course governments try to exert their influence in other states, or destabilise them through strident criticism. We’ve tried for decades. We achieve mixed results, which is why I think the Russian influence thing is entirely blown up.

For it to matter, at all, this Russian influence would have needed to be decisive. What evidence do you have that it was?

20 odd years ago when I was much more into my trade union activities we were discussing the way that these companies sell milk powder in developing worlds.
Still an issue and the US keep on bullying. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/jul/08/trump-administration-opposes-breastfeeding-resolution-report

Let’s hope Trump gets to see how special the relationship is. If I was London-based I’d fancy taking to the streets for this.

Turns out there are events all over the country.

Tempted.

Unfortunately i can’t get excited about a gobby fat lad with a shit wig coming over here telling us how great he thinks he is. i won’t protest though, it seems superfluous to me, as he’s not worth an ounce of effort.

I’d love for May to grow a pair and tell the world that our special relationship might have to be paused for the one or two terms that Trump will serve.

Tell the world there is a bigger picture than kowtowing to a megalomaniacal misogynistic muppet.

Re the relationship, tell them we need some time alone. Tell them it’s not us it’s them.
