:trumpdumb: Trumped!

Rebakah Mercer hardly ever talks to the press and Bannon was their philosophical guy. They backed Ted Cruz before reluctantly getting behind Trump.

Robert Mercer bought the election, Bannon was the brains and Kellyanne Conway the PR. His politics are extreme and he’s right wing nutjob. Also he realised that social media could be targeted to direct messages to voters in swing states.

A fellow partner at his Hedge fund left because of his philosophy. "Robert wants the U.S. government to be “shrunk down to the size of a pinhead.” Several former colleagues of his said that his views are akin to Objectivism, the philosophy of Ayn Rand. Magerman told me, “Bob believes that human beings have no inherent value other than how much money they make. A cat has value, he’s said, because it provides pleasure to humans. But if someone is on welfare they have negative value. If he earns a thousand times more than a schoolteacher, then he’s a thousand times more valuable.” Magerman added, “He thinks society is upside down—that government helps the weak people get strong, and makes the strong people weak by taking their money away, through taxes.” He said that this mind-set was typical of “instant billionaires” in finance, who “have no stake in society,” unlike the industrialists of the past, who “built real things.

Who is author Michael Wolff?

Was listening to some of the highlights on George Galloway.

Goes to bed at 6:30pm each night with a gallon of diet coke and stacks of Burger King. Insists on locking his bedroom door. Sleeps alone.

He promised his wife he would lose and was mortified when he didn’t.

Stephen Millers interview with Jake Tapper the other day is somewhat demented.

The BBC are being particularly kind over Trump on cocking up the US national anthem - other news sites less so. Typical Beeb I guess.

Seems to me there’s something wrong with him - more so that we’ve discussed

I find Colbert a bit irritating but here he reports that Miller was escorted off the CNN premises by security after the above interview.

An excellent piece from the New York Times.

Wolff’s book really questions Trump’s mentality. He’s unstable and erratic to put it mildly. Even his allies describe him at best as having ADHD. “And like a child who needs constant attention”

It’s 50/50 at a pre-emptive strike at NK.

Rex Tillerson is close to being replaced by Mike Pompeo, a hawkish extremist who has written about regime change in NK.

They’re possibly gambling that Kim hasn’t actually developed the weapons he’s stated. Or he won’t retaliate knowing his regime will be wiped out.

I really should stop worrying about this stuff :lou_facepalm_2:

will it ever end?

Trump cancels UK visit. Yay!

His reason is a bit bizzare - suspect it isn’t the real reason

He does seem a v.honourable and decent man. I don’t know if I could be like that if I was elected President. I’d be like, fuck you! I go where I want! I dunno if I could miss out on exciting expenses trips in Air Force One just to appease a rabble of trouble makers, and even if I did I’d be blaming it on them, rather than make polite excuses in this honourable fashion.
