:trumpdumb: Trumped!

I guess it depends how you define ‘clever’. Sly, manipulative, defensive and irresponsible, is not what I would define as clever.

Filthy Libtards

I shall be using that a lot with my crusty corduroy wearing colleagues.

Thanks Bear. Can always count on you

Politics, Clinton would be looking at bombing runs on Iran now so at least there are no bombs.

What is clever, though?

Is Einstein still clever if he spends his life living in a cave, publishing no works? Raw intelligence may as well be meaningless without application.

“Relative clever” is perhaps a better way of looking at things, particularly because it doesn’t require an external standard of education. It simply asks “is the person doing the most with the faculty they have?”

Donald fucking Trump is President of the USA. I take and endorse your points, @coxford_lou - I was watching a YouTube vids featuring all his cameos in movies across the decades. The man is near ubiquitous, add to that his long-running stint on The Apprentice, and I do start to wonder how long he’s had these plans in the making.

So yep, totally agree that he’s not going to discover a new base element or uncover a mystery of the universe, but in relative clever stakes, he’s off the charts. People were wrong to underestimate him during the campaign, and should be concerned now that has been married with executive authority.

Newbs to politics think he is stupid and not worthy of his Presidency, they’re wrong on both counts.

He isn’t stupid and he won an election.

From there he has got some incredibly clever people around him (like all administrations) who have planned this for the last 3-4 years, why aren’t there bigger protests against land grabs in Israel when we entertain them? China when they’ve colonised Tibet? I could list nations far far worse but because of our cuddly white privilege we’re scared to do it, a travel ban is small fry.

Biased and agenda driven cod shite.

Don’t get me wrong Barry. Trump _is _a danger, not just to long established elites, but to US citizens and perhaps the world in general.

I’ve just finished listening to the latest Hardcore History, which is about nuclear weapons but is mostly about the Cuban Missile crisis. It’s six hours long, and describes the integration of the weapons into the world. Remember that before nukes, military technology was under the command of military people. That was the expectation with nukes, certainly by the likes of Curtis Lemay.

Eventually enshrined to the head of the civilian government, you could argue that the only reason we all got out of 1962 is because civilians were prepared to face down their military advisors, only two men could have launched the weapons, neither wanted to and both wanted a way out.

Trump doesn’t want a ruck with Russia, but they’ve a total bone-on for China, given some of their messaging. If his military policy is as reckless as his civilian one, something could easily spark.

The whole US/China thing very much reminds me of 1914, when we were attempting to prevent an upcoming power from asserting what it thought was its place in the world. It did not end well.

Not so smart.

You said they would win in the supreme court @barry-sanchez . They seem to have realised that wasn’t going to happen.

Off to have another go. Let’s hope they get some expert advice this time.

From a trade point of view he is doing that of course, the British Empire was a mercantile one and we spent most of our time splitting and putting down other Empires by embargoes, he isn’t wrong when he says they fix their currency though is he? He is bang on the money and he vowed to help the American workers who voted him in, he is doing that, rightly or wrongly he is keeping his word.

How many politicians do that?

Oh, I’m not being an intellectual snob here. I know plenty of smart people who aren’t rocket scientists. I’m just disagreeing that sly, machaevellian, impetuous, deceitful, irresponsible, bullying behaviour isn’t the definition of smart. Partly because I believe, while it might gain you some quick wins, it will never win out in the long term.

Sadly @saint-or-sinner , I reckon @barry-sanchez might have been on the money last night. All Trump needs to do is wait for the next atrocity, then double down on it again. He’ll probably get his way, but equally, there will be a lot of eyes on any incident that occurs.

Homegrown or imported, his “point” will be proved.

Yay, my ‘Clinton is as bad as Trump’ bullshit bingo card is filling up pretty quick! Keep it up boys! Oh and what about her emails too?!

Like life in general Bazza is bang on the money…

No Barry, you’re not, you just have an agenda you’re prepared to defend at all costs. And frankly it’s pretty sad it’s come down to defending Trump.

You think you’re superior to them, but actually you’re as bad as the Libtards in terms of agenda driven thinking.

I actually predicted that Clinton would be worse for the world while Trump would be worse domestically.

And if, like most politicians, you believe in the principle that one can look better simply if another looks worse than they once did, then that’s going to be true regardless.

Would just be nice to avoid the conflagration of a World War.

The US has rightfully lost a lot of its wider legitimacy due to the military actions of Presidents commonly perceived as good. I mean, FFS, Obama. Put so much into indiscriminate drone warfare that you’d think he was auditioning for the part of Miles Dyson in a future Terminator film.

Hopefully, the veil will lift in Western nations with Trump in charge.

That stings Lou, Trump is a bellend and I was Sanders man, better to have a Trump than Clinton who’d be bombing Iran I say.

I am superior in the political sense as I respect the decisions taken by people in an election irrespective of how the vote has gone.

I don’t take to the streets with my pitchfork every time the tories are in, immaturity that’s all.

I don’t doubt how he will use anything he can. Was just pointing out they’re not as smart as @barry-sanchez would like us to believe. There was enough written about it. Here’s one.

His cabinet are smart and I would assume so are the people who write policy, they’re not people off the street.

Well, it’s good to read you think Trump is a bellend, because that sometimes get lost amongst your gleeful dismissal of Liberals, and your over exaggeration and demonising of what think Clinton may have done (regardless of what she has said) vs what Trump has actually said he would do and is now carrying out.

Btw, I too respect the vote of the public, and I too am no pitchforker.

Yup, and it was that kind of viewpoint that has got us to where we are now.
