🚵 šŸ‡«šŸ‡· Tour De France

213.5 KM to finish the line together.

Could be a dead heat, if not they’re seperated by millimetres

ANd they give it to Kittel :lou_eyes_to_sky:

What a ride by Froome. Lost 45 seconds because of a flat with the other GCs going full gas, and somehow clawed his way back on. Could have lost it there

Chapeau Froome. Kicked Bardets arse in the time trial, almost caught him even with a two minute gap.

great tour

I was hoping Landa was going to get on the podium.

A problem with this sport that I love, is that Brailsford has brought his ā€˜incremental gains’ and win whatever it takes with strategy and guile to make it very effective, but also a bit… bland.

Sky are turning it a bit into football, having by far the biggest biggest budget enabling them to pay more and have riders as domestiques who would lead, or have a chance of leading at other teams… denying us a bit of spectacle - it has happened in the past within teams. It usually because a young rider develops quicker than expected - Ulrich and Riis springs to mind, but it was much more fun when your one team mate hat licence to attack if stronger… what if Landa had gone for it? Same with Wiggo a few years back… Sky are able to control the whole race… and whilst you have to admire their strategy and ability to execute it, it does make for many a dull day…

I’d say that this has been the most unbland tour for years.

Yeah Sky have there way of riding it, developed scientifically, but that meant shit when AG2R made two breaks with eight riders.

reckon we might see more of that next year

Sky have controlled just about everything, but it has had some interesting moments.

Personally I’d like to see Landa get a surprise leadout today and try to grab a time bonus.

So Froome wins the tour, England win the World Cup, now for a Euro 17 win in the football please.

Is Froome Britain’s Least Loved great Sportsman?

Thought I would resurrect this thread

Managed to make our drive home intersect today’s stage - now sat on the side of the road in St Martin en Bresse with a less than impressed Ayatollah who’s just realised she has a two hour wait to watch them flash by in two seconds

We’re used to it. It seems to come up on a cycle.

If she wants to add a little drama get her to find a stout stick to put in the spokes of the lead bike. Should liven up proceedings. :lou_lol:

They have just passed through the village with the caravane. Which is like an enormous procession of floats throwing free shit into the crowds. The old boy next to us showed a surprising turn of speed and determination which got her competitive spirit going in all its glory.

What’s the French for ā€œI got that first you Fat cuntā€

Did that near Epping some years ago. I was like meh, got shit from Mrs P_F and then woo hoo it was great.
Strange really enjoyed it.

The wankers are on a go slow today - 35kph average on a flat stage - It is slow as in almost achievable slow.

And has added another 45 minutes to our wait and the Ayatollahs misery. Still she is keeping herself amused by scowling at the old git

Not out of your way much :man_shrugging:

Well, did the earth move for you??

It was a bit underwhelming - the place to watch this is the high mountains

My car however, decided that the best route to our overnight stay was via the finish line and we ended up spending an hour trying to get back out of Chalon

Cracking couple of days in Mountains… today’s stage really shows the race is open this year… with 3 big mountains stages to come anyone from 1-6 (within 2 1/2 minutes) is still in it… good race so far
