I still see nothing to shake my belief that they are all cunts.
This IDS stuff all goes back to something I have said over and over and over. The government is not run by the ministers that are the faces of the areas. They are run by those behind the scenes, those who actually know economics (my old economics lecturer was one of Labours economists in the 90’s), those who know the areas, and the big business/trade unions behind them.
IDS probably didn’t want to make all the cuts he did, I’m sure George Osborne knows very little of economics, they are just the faces that have to support what they are given.
As an aside, in my opinion this is a Brexit resignation rather than the straw that broke the camels back.
Having joined the party in 1981 at the height of Thatcherism and followed that agenda for 35 years, what was it about recent policies that surprised IDS?
Which party did he think he was in?
It’s all about keeping a fair balance, and I guess that balance was exceeded by this round of cuts. As said though, this was a resignation to discredit George for Brexit/next leader.
Which is then? You seem to be giving two answers? Either he tried to stuff george up OR he felt bad about stuffing the poor up.
No, one is the excuse for the second.
I heard on Radio that they have put PIP cuts on hold which is gr8 news. There is a bloke at my work and his Mum has got Arthritis and she is alright generally, but she finds it difficult to roll joints cos her hands can be a bit bad. Under the current system bloke from work gets £200/month to roll her joints for her, but he was v.worried that if PIP was cut, he would still have to do it cos it’s his Mum, but he would be doing it for Free.
These policies sound all well & good in theory, but it’s not until you meet the people who are actually affected that it really hits home how ppl will suffer bc of it. Fair Play to the IBS man for taking a Moral Stand on this RIP.
I reckon Dave’s gonna chuck Gideon under the bus…
And pray that he doesn’t have the piggy negatives.
The Piggy Negatives?
I think I saw them at The Joiners - or is it the depression you suffer after gorging on bacon?
Osborne having a laugh.
Don’t get ill on the 26th or 27th of April. Junior doctors are on strike; this includes emergency cover.
Not sure that is such a smart move - withdrawing emergency care??? It is the sort of approach that could erode public support.
This quote from the BMA gives the impression that they don’t give a toss about the patient
“Since the BMA has given employers the required seven days’ notice of this action, it is the responsibility of the employer to ensure a service is provided”
Can you tell us what the sentences prior to the one you have quoted are? Funny what context does and all that.
Cameron is trying to balance too many plates and they are now crashing down all over the place.
Listened to a Junior Doctor on 5Live last week, and he was asked if he backed the BMA. His response was along the lines of “no, not really, but they’re the only people there to protect us, so we have to”. He also mentioned that a lot of them would start to go against actions if it was likely that the strikes could affect patient safety.
Be interesting to see what happens now, especially as public support is on the decline.

I’m not for or against as I’ve never seen anything from them about what they’re actually striking about.
They keep quoting patient safety but I can’t see where that comes in to the new contract!!
