BREAKINGTruss returning to London

Foreign Secretary Liz Truss is cutting short her trip to a G20 meeting in Indonesia and returning to London.
She will issue a statement “shortly”, I am told.
….Indonesia wonders who she was in the first place.
Can’t see him hanging on as PM until a replacement is elected. All the resignees are refusing to work with him. He doesn’t have enough support to fill Ministerial positions.
Rumour is he’s trying to hang on to call a snap election in which he’d rely on his image and a populist agenda to turn it round, even at this stage. Hus narcissim is so extreme he can’t accept that the public don’t want him.
It could come down to the Queen who can refuse to dissolve parliament if there still is a viable government (which there would be under a different PM). Wouldnt it be satisfying to see a 95year old unelected monarch finally put the last nail in his coffin? Bet she’d enjoy it.
Pretty sure he’ll be kicked right out. As Raab will probably be a candidate he may not act as interim PM. Suggestion that Theresa May could be the one to fill the gap.
Then we can look forward to just 100,000 right-wing Tory members selecting our next PM. Ludicrous system.

Never forget that’s exactly the knife Starmer used on the only socialist in his party.

So, with his position having become totally and unequivocally untenable, he’s decided to step down. But he wants to carry on as PM until a new Tory leader is elected, a process that will take a few months. I suspect that this, too, will prove to be untenable. At present there must be well in excess of 50 vacancies for ministers and PPSs, none of which will be filled if Johnson remains PM.

He’s just playing for time, completely, and dangerously deluded. In his head he probably thinks he can turn this around, cling on for another few months which will take him past Theresa May’s tenure as PM, which apparently is very important to him. It just shows his mindset, which is that of a very spoilt child. The idea of him just carrying on as PM until the autumn, running the country, appointing Ministers, representing the UK abroad etc is laughable and quite frankly nothing short of obscene. He needs to go now, and the Tory Party and ministers that are left need to stop indulging him. Send the police in if necessary and drag him out in handcuffs if that’s what it takes. Worst Prime Minister ever. Until the next one!

They would have to be Nadine Dorris / Diane Abbot shit to get close. However Raab is deputy PM and I am sure he would give it his best shot as interim
Dominic Raab? Are you serious? He was still supporting Johnson to the bitter end. Like the majority of the useless fuckers Johnson surrounded himself with he wouldn’t get near a government role under a serious leader.

Who would you suggest then? Any preference?
Regardless of what I think it will be Raab because he is the current deputy. But giving his best shot? Has anyone seen his interviews over the past couple of days? Non stop lying even when confronted with the truth, then losing his temper when cornered. None of them who have wheeled themselves out to defend and blatantly lie for Johnson right up to the bitter end are fit for office.

My apologies. I’m afraid your satirical irony went straight over my head. In my defence, my head is done in with this fucking bout of Covid, I very rarely get sick and I’m struggling with it to be honest.

Whatever you think about Boris, nobody can say he didn’t conduct himself with dignity and gravitas until the very end.

So if any one was in any doubt as to why he wants to hang on…
One of the reasons why Boris Johnson wants to stay in No 10 is so he can use Chequers for his wedding party, it has been claimed.
The Mirror reported that Mr Johnson and his wife Carrie have planned a party at the PM’s grace-and-favour home for later this month.
If Mr Johnson left No 10 he would no longer have access to Chequers - a country estate in Buckinghamshire which is made available to British premiers when they are in office.
One Tory source told the newspaper that “one of the reasons he is staying is to have his wedding party at Chequers”.
