:tories: Tories in trouble?

No doubt a rallying call to legalise Whippet Racing…or some such “sport” :lou_eyes_to_sky:

It is pretty depressing.

So Katie Hopkins says she’s going to join the Conservative party.
Tommy Robinson says he wants to join the Conservative Party.
Britain First, two of whose leaders were jailed last year for race hate crimes have urged their supporters to join the Conservative Party in order to “make Boris Johnson’s leadership more secure”.
The media: Look at Labour’s racism.

Just because they have said they want to join the Tories, it doesn’t mean the Tories will have them or if they do slip through, keep them

That’s not really the point. The point is that recognised racists feel that the Tory party is now their party.

I was about to post the same thing. Also, given the statements, posts, etc. by a number of new Tory MPs, I think it highly unlikely that the Tories will do anything about it. They might just consider Robinson too toxic, but I bet they’ll be perfectly happy with the rest of them.

I can see where this will end up - with all Tories being labelled racist including those who voted for them

Great way to win over hearts and minds and more importantly the votes Labour need to get back in

Why so? I’ve said nothing of that sort, neither have I heard or seen it suggested elsewhere.

Glad to hear this has been deemed unlawful.

Only in the sense that I think all religions are ridiculous nonsense.

I was talking generically - not specifically at you

OK, so where have you seen or heard this said or suggested then? Or are you simply letting your own prejudices take flight?

What prejudices? In what way am I prejudice? And as we are talking racism here, this better be good.

This had better be good? Am I in some way beholden to you to supply a satisfactory answer? Can’t see that I am, to be honest. However, as you did ask, you’re basing your view of what’s going to happen on an assumption about how others will think and react, in this case Labour voters and supporters. You are, in effect, accusing them of prejudicial thinking, yet nobody has even expressed such thinking. And if that’s not prejudicial in itself then I don’t know what would be. Prejudice comes in all shapes and sizes; it needn’t involve race or sex. In fact, what exactly did racism have to do with what I posted?

Anything in the Queen’s speech about social care?
Today there are 100 beds at Southampton General being occupied by patients who do not need to be there but cannot be provided with adequate care at home or find a bed in a care home.
That’s three wards.

Ok

Deep breathe and step back

I overreacted there, sorry. Which is surprising cos I haven’t been drinking.

Yes I did generalise (something I have been critical of) - my bad.

I read prejudice and conflated it with the topic of racism and grabbed the wrong end of the stick.
