:tories: Tories in trouble?

Yeah we thought the same.

Probably just goes to show that those in power really don’t give a shit about anyone else they perceive not to be members of their particular club.

I am quite intrigued in what behaviour was acceptable a decade ago and isn’t now. I’d guess it wasn’t that acceptable a decade ago either. I once had a male colleague who would touch my knee and arm when I sat next to him making me very uncomfortable and he moved a female colleague out of the way once whilst trying to cop a feel. It was unacceptable then, we raised it with managers, no one did anything, the women left the team. That was early 2000s. My mum has said in the 60s men would often grope women. It wasn’t acceptable then but it was unlikely that anything would be done about it.

It’s been happening for years, in all industries. Not just the entertainment one. It’s a cultural problem. Tom Hanks was right, Weinstein will be known defining moment.

My mum told me kind of matter of factly that her boss exposed himself to her on her first day working as a typist. She was only 17 and didn’t say anything.

Spot on. I’ve been in a managerial position over 20 years and it wasn’t acceptable then, any more than it is now. The difference is in complaints procedures and the HR support, that just wasn’t available in those days. Someone copping a feel or a grope would have been seen as a dirty old man, but would have just had it brushed off. That old fashioned attitude seems to still be prevalent in Westminster and that’s what’s going to be the real scandal, who knew what about who and when? Some of the pious hacks lumping in are as bad, they knew the handsy blokes, heard the rumours , but did fuck all. Now it’s open season they’re all jumping up and down.

People need to distinguish between pervy unwanted behaviour and pulling. Of course blokes are going to use their position to pull a hot chick lower down the food chain. I’ve done it myself plenty of times, in fact Mrs Duck was an employee of mine. I didn’t need to grab her, make dirty comments or pinch her arse. My tactic once I’d identified someone I fancied was to use my position subtly to get to know them, then start dropping hints which clubs or pubs I’d be in. If they happened to be in the same place, bingo I’m in. If they didn’t , they weren’t interested. No harm done, they probably knew I was trying to get in their knickers, but I doubt there’s one that would say I crossed a line. And, it’s not just blokes either. I’ve had birds all over me, dropping hints and flirting, some because they wanted to get on with the boss or further their career, rather than think I’m a catch. I knew that, but just thought, it’d be rude not to. I became a lot more popular with the birds in a managerial position than I ever was as a bod, that’s for sure.

What a strange world we live in.

What a strange world the Duckhunter lives in. I seem to have been transported back to the 1970s.

Yet again us minions are pushed to adhere to standards of equality and respect.

And the filth that are supposed to set examples and lead us carry on as if it is still the 60s.

I hope and pray that some of these fvcks get jail time.

They won’t

Disagree. Upvoted @lord-duckhunter because he was pretty brave to post what he did, qualified his points well and made a clear distinction between being interested and being a creep.

I beg to differ. Anyone still calling women ā€œbirdsā€ and ā€œchicksā€ in 2017 has to be a creep, surely? He isnt brave, he is just stuck in a time warp and cant help himself.

Anyone knows it’s bitches and Ho’s - get into the 21st century Duckie

Is briefly touching a knee something to resign over? I wonder if there is more to it than that and he is jumping ship before further indiscretians come to light?

This is the problem. Whilst this is hot on the front pages no distinction will be made between someone making an isolated clumsy pass at someone and actual harrrassment.

For instnce if at the party conference an MP asks a female delegate up to his room for a bit of ā€œhow’s your fatherā€ is that harrassment. Certainly it would be if that MP would take no for an answer, but a one off?

With Fallon, there has to be more. He is removing himself from the frontline in the hope that he will quickly become the forgotten man.

Nope. You’re getting tied up on semantics and political correctness.

There’s the little matter of guilt you should consider before alighting your pitch fork.

innocent until proven guilty , guilty beyond reasonable doubt. Cornerstones of a free society. Good god some of the alleged incidents aren’t even criminal offences.

Some silly old sod claimed I was living in the 70’s , some people appear to be living in Salem in 1692.

The most concerning aspect, to my mind, is the fact the Tories seemingly kept an entire dossier detailing the alleged incidents.

Not to investigate, or discipline those accused, but instead it appears these supposed indescretions were logged as a tool to keep people in line.

Scummy behaviour.

Bit Malcolm Tucker ain’t it.

I bet the journo’s are crossing themselves everytime they write an article on this subject tho. You can picture a fair bit of knee touching going on at them newspaper offices, back in the day. I bet they was all at it. Hopefully some whistleblowers come forward! I’d like to see the whole thing blow up & eat itself in one great white hot mass of molten hypocrisy.

That would explain it then (self serving cunt )

I think we need to get honest here. There is no such thing as clumsy knee touch or whatever. Blokes KNOW when there is mutual attraction and when it’s a lecherous old randy sexist cunt ignoring them.

There are simply no excuses for unwanted touches or gropes. Sure there are times when we have all made a complete arse out of ourselves by asking some out who is not interested, but who the fuck goes around touching knees on the off chance ! No excuse for that.
