:tories: Tories in trouble?

I don’t see that it actually mentions British kids (ie kids born in this country, even if to illegal immigrants) anywhere in the article, and yes, if they’re born here then this obviously isn’t the correct policy.

“These cover deprioritising illegal migrants in the schools admissions process, and carrying out immigration checks through schools.”

This suggests that the children also need to be illegal immigrants.

Nope. Labour will just explain that the sector is underfunded, has the money being spent on white elephants such as free schools. It’s about funding. It’s really not a difficult question to answer. Surprised it didn’t occur to you.

We’d all love to have infinite money to spend on schools. But we don’t have infinite money for anything - its a case of resource allocation amid high demand. Stop funding free schools in order to school the kids of everyone who wants to come here is impossible. I’m all for higher investment in education, but the idea that we could possibly invest enough as to completely eliminate the competition for school places is dreamland stuff.

Is it? I do wonder what your evidence is. Been to dreamland? Forgotten that we created the NHS when we we had far less?

And we’re talking about the children of illegal immigrants. Are you honestly saying that the numbers are going to be that high, that the cost is going to be prohibitive?

I like that you’re interesting in debating this, so debate it. Just know that I’m going to be unimpressed with unsubstantiated comparisons with MrTrampoline’s personal world o’ nod.

Shouldn’t be an ask. It is.

But is it children of illegal immigrants, or children that are illegal immigrants. The article you posted didn’t say which.

Personally I don’t believe illegal immigrants should have the same rights when it means that legal immigrants and natives may miss out. Is that unreasonable?

If the schools budget was 20% higher Labour would still be trying to find arguments why it needs more. If it was 20% lower, Tories would still be trying to find ways to reduce it. That is the way of the World. I don’t really know what the truth of the matter is tbh, but I’m placing no credence on ur testimony whatsoever soz. It would need to come from someone entirely impartial and trustworthy, like me, or David Beckham.

Fuck you all.

These are fucking children you fucking heartless twats…

…Is what someone who works in education with kids that don’t have enough to eat, don’t come from this country, don’t have long to live and didn’t ask for any of the shit stuff that happens to them in their lives, might say.

Personally I think we should deport them whilst their parents go through the legal system. Fuck 'em.

Does it matter? There are kids that are in the country that need educating. Born here or not born here doesn’t really matter to me.

So you’re basically saying that people ought to have more rights based on whether they dropped out of their mum’s vag here or not? That we should deny kids education if they’re foreign, and not here legally.

After all the time you’ve spent trying to insinuate that Barry is a racist, and all.

Oh. Are they missing out completely? I thought it was just that the citizens get first pick of what school they go to, and then the illegal immigrants get distributed around after. I didn’t know they was getting no school at all! I am not OK with that. I’m Out. And I applaud the Tory government for not adopting this policy.

We’re not saying they’re not getting educated, and neither does that article. They will get educated, but they don’t get priority over those already here legally.

Be nice if you actually read the article you posted first.

So that’s why they started asking to see kids passports in school then.

Be good to have some more figures. Maybe full fact website may have something.

Even if that’s what they intended, still an entirely shit idea. Send immigrant kids to schools that are already failing, alongside children already being failed.

Primary school ghettos. Were you actually on board with that, Bear?

No, you’re right Bearsy, it’s in the first paragraph of the article. Surprised Pap hasn’t seen this:

“Leaked cabinet letters suggest that the Home Office - when it was being run by Theresa May - wanted the children of illegal immigrants to go to the bottom of the list for school places.”

Pap doesn’t do figures as they tend to disprove his ramblings.

Bwa.
Ha.
Ha.

If you want to equate exploring the issues with not being able to read, read this first (if you can).

More people are got-homes than any time in History, pap! That’s got to make you feel good, ain’t it?

Not really, Bear.

Most of those homes aren’t owned by the people they live in. Many of them have such exorbitant rents that working tenants need help from the government, have their life chances reduced, or both.

At the same time, we’ve got a Prime Minister whose major policy inspiration seems to be apartheid.

Wonder what’s worse, Apartheid with the Conservatives, or Anti-Semitism with Labour?

Choices, choices…

The anti-semitism shit was a witch-hunt designed to damage Corbyn at the local and mayoral elections. It is without foundation, and has already been pilloried by many socialist Jewish groups.

When you’ve got a Home Secretary, now Prime Minister, de-prioritising British kids because their parents were born somewhere else, that’s apartheid.

A very revealing post, nonetheless. You’re either clueless about the issue, or you’re fully clued up and choosing to troll with it regardless. Either way, doesn’t look good.

Yeah, I mean, I didn’t know that immigrant kids are worse students than non immigrant kids, and would make bad schools even worse. That seems a racist thing to insinuate tbh, and is not something I would’ve thought of myself, so you’ll have to excuse me for the oversight.

lol srs? I dunno that I even had a passport at primary school. I would’ve been sent to ghetto school srs!

Nope, don’t understand your point. The article never mentions British kids. The point was the article was inconsistent in its message, so I was hoping you’d go off and find an article that actually answers whether it’s all kids of Illegal Immigrants, or just the illegal ones.
