:tories: Tories in trouble?

Why?

Sorry Cherts, but after six years in charge, the Conservatives have proven themselves to be the last people you want guiding the changing of behaviours.

Why?

You mean:-

Why shouldn’t proven liars be allowed to set the moral standards of the nation?

Wonder what House of Commons would look like if we barred every politician who ever told a lie.

You can tell lies for decent reasons, Bear.

Their reasons are indecent.

They say things like “priority is the poor”, cut funding to them, then hand businesses and rich folk tax breaks.

I prefer the days when schools were there to educate, not allow Theresa May to do her best UKIP impression or make Nicky Morgan look like a saint by comparison.

Leaked cabinet letters suggest that the Home Office - when it was being run by Theresa May - wanted the children of illegal immigrants to go to the bottom of the list for school places.

Her department suggested schools could withdraw places offered to children if their families were found to be living in the country illegally.

The Home Office also wanted schools to carry out immigration checks.

Shadow education secretary Angela Rayner said the idea was “disgusting”.

And Chief Inspector of schools Sir Michael Wilshaw said he was “amazed and shocked” by the claim.

They’d prob argue that is a) not lies and b) good reason, cos they think best way to help poor people, is to boost the businesses what employ them.

Oh, and the homeless population in England is at least the same size as the population of a city like Southampton. Might even be the same size as Liverpool.

More than a quarter of a million people are homeless in England, an analysis of the latest official figures suggests.

Researchers from charity Shelter used data from four sets of official 2016 statistics to compile what it describes as a “conservative” total.

Sorting out the plantation owners ahead of the slaves. Nowt new.

I remember when homeless used to mean sleeping rough.

I remember when the under 25s could get housing benefit, and didn’t have to sleep rough when there were unresolvable problems at home.

More people are got-homes than any time in History, pap! That’s got to make you feel good, ain’t it?

Not really, Bear.

Most of those homes aren’t owned by the people they live in. Many of them have such exorbitant rents that working tenants need help from the government, have their life chances reduced, or both.

At the same time, we’ve got a Prime Minister whose major policy inspiration seems to be apartheid.

Hmm. Is that true or is that one of them lies you tell for decent reasons? I would’ve thought most homes are owned by the people who live in them srs. That is what my gut tells me. I would’ve thought it would be quite close run thing tho I spose.

Sorry, I don’t see why this is an issue. If they are here illegally, why should they have equal rights access to our schools?

That’s a lot of people. How much has that grown since the Conservatives came to power?

Wonder what’s worse, Apartheid with the Conservatives, or Anti-Semitism with Labour?

Choices, choices…

The anti-semitism shit was a witch-hunt designed to damage Corbyn at the local and mayoral elections. It is without foundation, and has already been pilloried by many socialist Jewish groups.

When you’ve got a Home Secretary, now Prime Minister, de-prioritising British kids because their parents were born somewhere else, that’s apartheid.

A very revealing post, nonetheless. You’re either clueless about the issue, or you’re fully clued up and choosing to troll with it regardless. Either way, doesn’t look good.

Is, in this political climate, exactly the kind of question that the Labour Party is now going to have to actually answer rather than being able to simply silence the questioner.

If the children of illegal immigrants are on an equal footing with those of British citizens when it comes to school places, then as much as you might complain about the rhetoric of the likes of the Daily Mail (who, yes, will be all over it, and yes, will report it as nastily as possible), the reality is that the headline “Illegal immigrants are costing your kids school places” will have a lot of weight behind it.

I spose it makes a kind of sense, if you think about it. I.e. if you’ve got kids who are gonna be here permanent, you’d place them first, and then the kids who will be leaving, i.e. if they’re gonna be deported or have terminal illnesses, you’d prob place them after, otherwise it’ll mess up the class numbers.
