šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡¦ The War/Invasion in/of Ukraine

They have a few songs that would suit the situation…

Babe I’m Gonna Leave You
Dazed and Confused
Stairway to Heaven

This train station bombing seems more difficult to fake, especially when additional missiles were taken out by anti-missile artillery.

What I want to know is are Scorpion going to give all the money back they made for ā€œWinds of Changeā€?

That would be ā€œThe Scorpionsā€.

Yes, because the definite article definitely makes the difference.

Do you think they offended other scorpions when they took this stance? I mean, they weren’t even biological scorpions.

…with Sting on bass.

Bloody war zone tourists…

BBC News - Ukraine: Johnson pledges aid to Zelensky in Kyiv meeting

I know they need weapons, but ever more complex systems is a form of escalation…

If we don’t help them, we’re consigning 100’s of 1000’s to their deaths as they won’t give in, a war of attrition is guaranteed, its just how bad it will be, its already horrific, the only bright spot (I’m looking for anything) is the east of the Country will have had chance to get out after seeing the horrors inflicted by the Russians when they were retreating.
This also could make the Russian speakers in some areas turn in their emotional attachment to Russia towards Kyiv and support Ukraine.
Even if Russia grinds out victory in the east (I’d never thought I’d be saying if 6 weeks ago) then the ongoing sanctions are going to hammer the middle classes there, its bad now but it’ll get worse for them.

How is the Ruble doing?

Stabilised to its original amount, that won’t make a blind bit of difference though, the average Russian can’t spend anything, inflation is at an unbelievable rate and if Germany pulls out of the gas as is expected Russia will be bankrupt within a month.
The rouble is in a false position.

What you’re saying is that Russia can’t buy anything from the West.

That’s not the same as not being able to buy anything. There are other markets other than the West.

If you’re asking the question ā€œwhat would make the war end soonestā€, this isn’t the answer. But wars that end soon are not as good for all the people who make their money supplying wars.

The shots of Boris and Zelensky strolling around the strasse rather dampen reports of genocidal constant bombardment.

Boris and Zelensky were in Kyiv. Russian forces have withdrawn from the Kyiv region having failed to seize it. The Russian focus has moved to eastern Ukraine where the genocidal bombardment is still taking place.

Quite surprised to see someone who trades in words use them so carelessly.

I’d expect the puppet Zelensky to say ā€œgenocideā€ whenever the hand twitches in his arse the right direction.

I’d expect more sensible statements from people that know the meaning of the word ā€œgenocideā€.

How else would you describe artillery and missile attacks on known civilian areas? Or are you maintaining that these are not occuring?

Fake news - probably

There is simply too much evidence, too many news organisations from across the world reporting on this with reporters on the ground to sustain the idea that it is fake news.

Aeroplane parts?

I wouldn’t use the term genocide.

It’s basically the equivalent of screaming. Where else are you going if people aren’t moved by that?

Are you not doing a disservice to the victims of actual genocide?

Also, why is Putin ā€œgenocidingā€ the Russian speaking part of Ukraine? Isn’t that rather counter-productive.

Of course, it might just be that people are employing words hysterically, without knowledge of their meaning, or both?

This is a war. It is incredibly filthy business. If you want to call this genocide, then you have to start aiming the term at pretty much every bombing campaign.

Was Bomber Harris a genocidal maniac? He ordered the dropping of bombs and knowingly targeted civilians. Where does Putin’s ā€œgenocidalā€ bombing campaign stack up compared to that?
