šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡¦ The War/Invasion in/of Ukraine

Thread on what this means for NATO.

I’d say he is having to soften his position as NATO have shafted him for the sake of their territory being encroached, Ukraine will remain sovereign so Putin has not got his way, it also will have elections and I’ve no doubt it be a resounding western government elected wanting social reforms along the side of the EU and western Europe, Putin will have another neighbour looking west whether he likes it or not, it will not be under the Russian sphere of influence. This is the start of another cold war though.

Its classic schoolyard bully stuff- they keep on until they get a smack on the beak

Aren’t they getting a proper pasting by the Ukrainians?

If Russia takes the black sea and Eastern Ukraine I think the EU is going to lose all interest in Ukraine. The EU likely wanted it’s black sea gas to give it an alternative to Russian supply. There’s some oil deposits in Western Ukraine still but probably a bit close to Odessa and Transnistria to be exploited securely. Plus, the Ukrainian’s weren’t really happy about the IMF’s stipulations in 2014 mainly due to the increase in energy costs that this would entail. Energy has only gone up in price since then so I have doubts EU membership is realistic at all.

Not sure that the Ukrainians will be able to deliver a knock blow - they can and are making it bloody painful, but ultimately Russia is probably too big and has more resources (men) to pour into the grinder.

The question for Russia is how many men lost is too much and the question for Ukraine is can they inflict that upon the Russians before the cost to Ukraine (men / damage to cities etc) becomes unsustainable

If Russia holds any lands Ukraine wants after this expect this sanctions to stay and the Russian people to return to levels of poverty not seen since the late 80’s.

All Ukraine had to do to win was to survive, it has, it is and it will. Putin will not control Ukraine, he thought he’d be welcomed like Hitler was in the Sudetenland but it was more like Hitler in Moscow.
Putin has lost, the only thing he has won is and it is a big victory for him if you ask me is Ukraine won’t join NATO.

Interesting the people who read the propaganda are leaving en masse.

"Serhiy Orlov, Mariupol’s deputy mayor, tells the BBC that Russian bombing hit the city’s drama theatre where civilians were being sheltered.

He estimates that between 1,000 and 1,200 people were there. The number of casualties is still unknown."

I hope this turns out to be a false alarm

Journalist Roman Super said people were quitting its Vesti news stable en masse, although that has not been confirmed. However, renowned TV host Sergey Brilev quashed reports that he had resigned, pointing out he has been on a business trip for more than a week.

Good job some of us are detail conscious, eh?

Ha Ha lets see how long that business trip is, as for details you didn’t know until I told you about the Australians and Dutch taking the Russians to court over MH17.

That’d be the story all over the mainstream media, right??

Yes, the one that suddenly got some traction after years of no-one being blamed. Still, it’s good that no-doubt conclusive evidence turned up eventually, eh?

I was watching The Duran on YouTube. I’ve been watching it for a couple of years and it has been clear from the start that the channel has a pro-Russian bias, but they’re not actually linked to the Kremlin directly so they’re still on the YouTube air.

They made the point today that the West simply hasn’t thought this through, pointing out Boris’ globetrotting to secure energy for the UK, having to engage countries like Venezuela and topically, Iran, before everybody else gegs in and snaffles all of the supply.

Would anyone agree with that assessment?

That’s not promising

Equivalence Pap, and to finish if Putin wasn’t such a cunt Boris the twat wouldn’t have to go and see other cunts,

Yes, I’m sure that’s how historians will frame it.
