đŸ‡ș🇩 The War/Invasion in/of Ukraine

Very interesting but the more interesting question is where is the article on the Guardian that tells you who is winning?

The other side of the paper that you quote that says your mate is winning.

I think my point is that in most other conflicts, this is the first thing to report.

I was listening to Antony Beevor on The Spectator’s podcast and he didn’t seem to have an issue describing the situation, even from a Western point of view.

Hold on to your hats.

Something attempting the semblance of balance with regard to the Azov Battallion.

Western media now routinely describe the accusation that the Ukrainian military contains nazis as mere Russian misinformation.

It’s important to oppose this whitewashing exercise.

Though the monopoly media want to present this war — like every war in which Nato has a stake — as a clash between good and evil, it should not be too difficult for socialists to grasp that Russia can have cynically exaggerated the role of Ukrainian fascists to justify an aggressive war, and Ukraine can still have a genuine problem with fascist militias.

Fair but not sure I take The Morning Star as balanced

On page 2 they awarded Stalin humanist of the 20th century

Also why did nationalist figures and far right activism come into Ukraine? The Soviet Union had a huge part to play in this populist reaction, the irony and hypocrisy not mentioned on here is Stalin sorry Putin is aligned to Serbia, and I think they have quite a few fascists in their politics.

Who’s asking you to?

Is the article balanced?

Having a look through the Guardian’s live news today. What’s interesting is that some of it is at least two days old. Saw the same reports on those unreliable YouTube channels I watch.

News “papers” these days seem to be more about advertising revenue than actual news so I’m not surprised they’re picking up their stories 2nd/3rd/4th hand tbh

I’m not sure anyone needs to worry much about the Azov battalion - there cant be many of them left

It’s a great distraction for Putin followers. They think it justifies invasion and murder.

Who are these people you keep obliquely referring to?

You know people who worship Putin, the great proxy they like as they don’t like the west, no one comes to mind though but when they do you’ll be the first to know.

Yeah, right. You probably already have a little black book with names

They were advised not to go by our government.

As the article says, more likely to be used as political pawns than killed.

They were both living in Ukraine before the war broke out

Before or after the Donbass war started? 2014.
