Ok, a conundrum to me but probably an easy peasy response from our more IT literate posters.

Asking for a friend (obviously)

Over the last few day when I start to type www.google.co.uk on my crappple eyephone it has started to default to www.google.es

The only thing I’ve done differently is download a new vpn

Probably nothing, but thoughts, comments and abuse on why this is happening warily anticipated…

Is your VPN connected to a Spanish server by any chance?

Wow.
I could be a trekkie as well as a trekkie.
1st thing I thought of!

No. The Netherlands. Next question

Point it to a British server then, if you can

Turned off vpn. Turned off Crapple phone and turned it on again and hey presto, back to normal.

Seems the one IT trick I constantly get peddled by my IT dept actually works :joy:

Question for the techno-boffs.

Recently my wifi keeps going off saying that my network adaptor is not installed. After a while I turn my laptop back on and wifi is working again, despite me doing nothing to address my missing network adaptor. Is this microsoft punishing me for not upgrading to windows 11?

Any help much appreciated.

Carry on…you certainly don’t want Windows 11.

Most likely cause is a hardware fault on the wireless network adapter, or possibly the motherboard. It may be that it’s brought about by the laptop warming up as it’s used, affecting the physical connection between the motherboard and the network adapter (or just the network adapter itself, or maybe just the motherboard).

If the laptop is new enough to be under warranty then that’s worth pursuing. If not, then it might be easy to source a replacement network adaptor; depending on the laptop, this my be fairly easy to install.

Advice please from you experts out there. In my mayoral year I will be fundraising fir two charities and want to set up an online donations page.

I’ve previously used Just Giving but for two charities they require those donating to nominate one or other charity, and I want all donations to be split equally. I’ve seen a few platforms out there: I want to minimize charges but have a reliable professional site.

Any advice?

Help.
Google Sheets.

I need to split a ROW not a column.
ie the headings so that they remain always in view when you are moving down the page.
Because I have a computer moron who is fvcking everything up on it because he cannot be arsed to scroll to the top.

The Help says go to Data split colimns and of couse I want to 1. split a ROW and 2 it doesn’t let me click on it.

Anybody?
It is SO fvcking easy on Excel

I take it you mean freeze the heading…

Right Click on the 1 on the first row or long press, tap the ellipsis if it appears and then ā€œfreezeā€

Thanks
Jeez they don’t make it easy!
Lolz

ā€œTheyā€ don’t make it easy? Hmm

Is the site dying? I’m at the cricket and the icon has shrunk to a dot and it’s a bollocks to get on. I had to Google to get this far.

It was like this yesterday afternoon, but fine on my laptop at home.

All quite normal for me on my phone although I am accessing through my home hub.

Yeah, fine for me as well on my mobile.
