⚽ 🔄 The Summer (or Autumn) 2020 transfer thread

I can see Walcott as a sub option to cover, especially if Redmond or Djenepo is out.

Read that the Williams one may stall as he wants guaranteed game time. Unlikely to be ahead of Bertrand so could be a problem.

Late interest because they’ve only just worked out how to put his surname into Google.

Communication between the transfer committee taking too long as autocorrect keeps trying to buy 62 year old Bruce Grobbelaar

Now you’ve mentioned him, this is mandatory. (To the tune of heads, shoulders, knees and toes).

Bruce Grobbelaar lets in goals (lets in goals)

And then he drives a fucking great big Rolls

So Everton, that is Everton who are top currently, have spent £25m on a centre back from… Norwich.

Ancelotti has clearly not read what Bazza says about players who were relegated

OK The Big Nose That Knows

Am I going to have to get a subscription to the The Atheltic?

I certainly don’t have one so if you don’t mind then that would be great! Maybe we can have a whip round to cover the cost

If we got Walcott on 50% of his wages that could be an excellent deal

Ben Godfrey to Everton @Goatboy, one I believe I said we should go for a month ago…

Wallcott would seem to fit a prioritising of corporate and branding desires for Southampton Saints and in turn a compromise for Ralf .

Rather than a football ambition signing in terms of progressing to winning anything like Godfrey

Why? I am not necessarily against the deal providing we don’t pay for this season, why should we? He’s been shit for 10 years.

We’ve signed Salisu who is a highly regarded young centre back. That is future proofing is it not? (Before Barry asks where he is, he will no doubt be involved after the international break. Not that we’ve needed him in the last couple of games.)

I get relative deprivation but there’s zero point comparing our reach with that of Everton. Their owner has more money than sense. Many will argue they have done well this summer but that glosses over the last three years of shite.

Sky just did a poll and 50% of voters think Everton will finish in the top four… good to see their fans aren’t getting carried away. Not sure how they think they’ll edge out Liverpool, City, Arsenal and Saints to those spots.

I think they are looking at Europa like we are.
