Personally I’m not especially bothered. I think he has all the attributes but the good he did for us came in a short window and thereafter he was quite anonymous.
It does however go to show where we are in the current financial pecking order.

Just been reading that he’s going on a season-long loan to West Ham as Chelsea won’t sanction a permanent deal. It will be interesting to see if he kicks on. I thought he looked very good going forward, strong and pacey which put defenders on the back foot. But his actual finishing ability was distinctly average.
This is saying permanent not a loan.
Horses for courses I suppose, we will find out in the coming days I’m sure.
In many ways I think it’s worse if he goes on loan elsewhere. Especially considering all the shite we heard in December about his family being really happy with where he was and his progress.

I suppose at the end of the day it’s all about his wages, I expect West Ham were offering more than us. As you rightly say, the rest of it is just bollocks.
