I still think it’s too early in the window to make the striker signing! It’ll be deadline day or near enough.
Ralph even referenced Man Utd searching for a striker in the fans forum. I interpreted that comment to mean that whilst big money is still in the market, we’ll need to be patient and wait our turn at the watering hole. A week on from that comment, Utd are still fucking about all over the place, bouncing from target to target. So that situation hasn’t really resolved anything. Bearing in mind Utd have also been linked to players who we reportedly hold interest in, like Dembele and Kalajdžić.
This could may well be a smokescreen that we’ve released knowing that we’ve already been priced out of a move. Who knows? 
Anyone recall that utter melt on Twitter about a year ago who ranted on and on that we had to sign Dele Alli?

Another factor is the Champions League qualifying round which completes next week. Some targets are involved and may choose to stay with their club if they get through.
