Total Saints Podcast had a useful interview with an Italian football journo who gave a lot more context. Seems Lyanco celebrated a win for loan club Bologna over Torino and the fan relationship went south as a result. Plus, a lot of turmoil behind the scenes at Torino contributed to him never living up to his alleged potential and it was suggested that a fresh start will be good for him.
He’s a good age, and clearly played at a decent level, has a good pass on him, so let’s see. I think the club have (re)earned our trust with recent transfers.
If only somebody on Sotonians could have provided a link to the same interview two days ago…
