Come on lads, this sounds like sour grapes. We’re better than that.

But I still hope he breaks his fucking leg. :rage:

No sour grapes on my part.

He’s a good centre half and we’ll miss his presence at set pieces but he always looks suspect when confronted with a bit of pace.

The smørrebrød eating cunt is dead to me now.

Set pieces but also his ability on the ball to play out and hit diagonals.

But this news falls in to the category of - not in the slightest bit surprising. To us or the club.

The way the club and Ralph have talked up Salisu I was always expecting this coming season to be his breakthrough year and there is definitely something about him that makes me think he could be very, very good. Next summer’s transfer window rumour good.

So it was always a case of who would partner him, Bednarek or Vestergaard. More likely the former but then Vestergaard pulled his finger out and relented at being total shite. Meaning all of a sudden there was a decision to make.

So I guess whoever we bring in to ‘replace’ Vestergaard will likely be a young backup in the first instance with one eye on him (potentially) replacing Salisu next summer.

Like it or not that’s how we roll.

Final thought on Vestergaard and his choice of Leicester… whilst I accept he will probably have been given assurances by Mr Rodgers, it’s hard to see him getting much game time once Fofana and Evans are fit and Soyuncu is around. He could potentially find himself fourth choice in six months.

So… apart from the silky out of defence footmanship, the ability to hit 97 yard laser guided precision passes with either foot, his 18 yard box set piece domination both in defence and attack, his frequent visits to the hairdressers of Southampton and his regular goals… what has the rødgrød med fløde eating cunt ever done for us?

Your knowledge of what I can only presume is Danish delicacies, is commendable. My knowledge would stop short at pastries.

Now, call it intuition or reading way to much in to things but I reckon there has been a bit of unrest around JWP in the background.

During the fans forum I noted a distinct absence of mentions for JWP when they were talking about committed players. I forget the exact context but he wasn’t mentioned which struck me as odd. Yes Semmens went on to say he’d definitely be here when asked directly but that doesn’t necessarily mean JWP is happy about it. I do wonder if he’s been offered silly money at Villa as well and has his head turned.

Add to that a big fuss has been made of Romeu captaining the side in preseason. Some might call this pre-programming or preparing us for life without JWP.

Then there’s the article and quote below, Ralph refers to the first three lads by first name or nickname but JWP by his last name. He used to call him ‘Prowsie’…

"We have enough experience in the team but it is more important that our players work hard and put everything on the pitch that we need to do.

“We have Che [Adams], Ori[ol Romeu], [ James] Ward-Prowse, Theo [Walcott]. I do not see us being short of experience in any part of the game or the team.”

Just a feeling in me waters.

Money talks.

That said, I just listened to the press conference and Ralph must have called JWP ‘Prowsie’ on at least three occasions!

So what the fuck do me and me waters know!

To be fair Villa are giving it the build a dream shit that Cortese span when he was here - we are giving it the we are trying to survive amd our owner is potless spiel

It will never happen but we could do worse than signing Gary Cahill who is a free agent I believe.

Now I have no problem with Journeymen defenders, as long as they are decent, Gary Cahill would be OKish in my eyes…
