He’s not done anything I disagree with.
Only disappointment is that we haven’t shifted out more of the deadwood at this stage but in truth that was always going to be dragged out until the end of the window.

PNE’s Bodin’s goal ripped our defence a new one.
They probably got more out of today than we did.
We were clearly quicker, but so will be everyone else in the Premier League - Didn’t see much in these highlights to make me think we’ll finish in the top 6…would have loved to see the full 90 & want to see the full squad in action.

I agree that we probably won’t be troubling the top 6 but I’m a lot more positive than you having watched those highlights.
We created, what, 12-15 chances - most by high pressing and breaking quickly. I thought we looked sharper than I’ve seen us in preseason (with 20 odd days to go) than I’ve seen us for many a year.
As you say I would have liked to see the whole match but I’m really encouraged.
Their goal was very well taken and raises questions but it wasn’t a centre back making an absolutely shit decision under pressure. It was more two players getting beaten by some clever trickery and a keeper beaten by good placement. Not good but I’d prefer that than obvious howlers.
Do you think there is any chance Danny Rohl is back negotiating some deal in Leipzig for a defender?

Just that he’s gone on a training camp to Dublin whereas Austin is training with the under 23s.
Worse fates have become us than to have Boufal play for us this year. Cough Graham Souness Ali Dai cough

I guess this is the first time the current coaching set up (Ralph excluded for now as he is in China) will have had to see him. I think even Carrillo came back for a bit before being left behind.

How’s that transfer to Utd or Arsenal working out for you Mario?
Don’t get me wrong, from what I’ve read it was always agreed that he would give us two years and then go. However, I imagine that was more or less based on the assumption that he’d pull up a few trees and actually play regularly. Like Sadio Mane, 2 years and then he’s off. But Lemina still has much to prove which makes his current situation all the more bizarre. I personally think he should have revised his career plan after his patchy form and lack of fitness last year, knuckled down and forced himself in to Ralph’s plans. As it happens though he did a silly interview and in doing so made his bed. Now he has to lie in it and in truth, won’t be missed.
