So what youāre saying is that your share a passion with your wife for blowing childrenās instruments, the bigger the better?

You get no critique from me.

Can you play the Mandalorian theme?
No, no criticism from me either. Iām a lover of all kinds of music and sadly someone who has failed to produce anything remotely listenable on every instrument Iāve ever tried.
Iāve even tried the descant recorder at Junior School. Our little recorder group had to often play at morning assembly. Fortunately four of us played with gusto masking that one of our quintet was miming.
No prize for guessing who was miming.
The simple answer here is yes. I would need a full copy of the score, from which I would arrange it for recorder orchestra (best about 40 to 50 players). The orchestra would have to include include a number of contra basses, and several sub-contra basses. These are very large instruments, but can give a very deep and loud sound, like the beginning of the piece you mention. The rest of the orchestra would be made up of great bass, bass, tenor, alto and descant (only 2 of these).
Sorry to give you an answer, but you did ask!
Do you have a YouTube clip of your ensemble?
Luckily, someone years ago (2013) recorded this little snatch as we were playing in a church in Farnham. Not a concert - we were just borrowing the church for the afternoon because of its acoustic, and we were all meeting up nearby.
This is one of our groups called āNight Owlsā, because we used to meet at playing weekends, and kept playing all hours into the night!
We still keep in touch (and play) over 20 years later.
The piece is O Sacrum Convivium by Thomas Tallis.
Hope the link works.
Quoted the wrong name of the piece!
Something about medieval music that so suits the church acousticā¦couldnāt be better suited. Very nice piece.
What was it like the first time round?
No need for that.
Thatās got a beat to it
Yeah itās one of our up-tempo numbers.
I have cheered myself up by going to the Outlet Mall & buying a pair of Corduroy trousers for £7.95 in the C&A sale.
This has been a HUGELY exciting day!
Living the dream, eh?
Apart from our road trip, this was first trip outside the Village since 1st week of Jan!
Simply too much bloody snow to walk anywhere with all the Malls locked down.
