📚 The Sotonians Lockdown & Beyond Diaries

Yeah I know but you may know someone looking for ideas

With many traditional EU summer vacation spots being fully booked or impacted by travel restrictions, perhaps it is time to look “Out & About” around Krakow for a longer and more relaxing vacation than the traditional “City Break”.
This week we will look at some of our favourite Private English Language Tours
The Dunajec river passes through the Pieniński Mountains National Park and marks the border between Poland and Slovakia. It is a land made for Cycling and Camping for us locals, but also makes for a wonderful day trip from Krakow or Zakopane.

Maybe that’s how they discovered crop rotation

After three months of eating nothing but cabbage and broad beans, the farmers vowed never to plant them again and moved onto something else the following year

Which is why we “bubbled” the garden with BFF.
We swap 30% for berries & soft fruits, 30% to Brother & family upstairs for the Eggs from the Chickens & 10% gets things like the MOT done

Just been out onto the garden to see if we could spot that Comet.
Cant believe how clear it was, just below the Big Dipper.

OMG.
Not only did @ericofarabia & I go to the same Barclay James Harvest gig b4 we met, we both flew on one of these to Venice for an Educational cruise when we were nippers.
I went on SS Nevassa he was on SS Uganda. I had backbrow window seat both ways. Hearing has never been right since

Ah good old Dan Dare. We flew to Tenerife in May 1980 on a Dan Dare 737…the corresponding flight exactly a week before had inexplicably flown into a wooded mountain. The landing a week later was tense but uneventful. :frowning:

How anyone who flew in the 70s and early 80’s with some of these carriers is still alive is one of life’s mysteries

That said I got my love of flying on Dan Air flights - I guess it was the endorphins.

My first flight to NY in 1977 was courtesy of Freddie Laker on a Boeing 707…the interior decoration was Art Deco. Slightly better flight back from SF on a DC 10 which had a poor safety record.

One of my mates does an online TV show for Event Pros.
Found this gaming meets events

And annoyingly it’s my “current” employer.
Who are skint & nobody wants this yet in Poland but…

Hmm.
They have a project in Poland & need support.
Time for Mrs P_F to dust off her work gear & get back into the game

With ChatRoulette also running on your machine, it’ll now be slow as well as sticky

Time to see if I’ve taught you lot anything about Poland.

This weekend sees the return of the TV Music Festivals.

With pent up demand, which band HAD to be Headlining? (And has most people round here dropping everything to scream and sing?)

  1. PMSL to see the (2 seats apart) audience singing & dancing.
    In masks.
  2. Even our Cat knows does a paw palm, cries oh no not again & leaves the house when they come on
