🦇 The sci-fi, fantasy and capeshit thread

Both I think?

The film was good,

SG-1 was brilliant (and the reason that I got Sky+ when it came out)

Then we had SG Atlantis and SG Universe, which were OK in their own way..

And the spin off
And the second spin off (which REALLY) needed a proper ending (Universe)

But not fussed by the Egyptian Archaeology spin off thing

They did so well to avoid any Trek or Star Wars tropes even when they invented their space ships.

Jack had just the right balance Samantha was one up on the thinking man’s crumpet.

Great show.

How one of the greats was filmed

Watchingbthe bew Dr Who spin off.
Not sure.
There’s something Fishy about it

Tge War between the Land & tge Sea.

Oh yes, this is Dr Who without the Doctor, without woke shit, and written for grown ups

Unit, Kate Lethbridge Stewart, Sea Devols and not for kids.

Decent production values as well. No cardboard sets in a quarry

Pluribus continues

Episode 7 is bat shit mental, as in how do you come up with that? At every level, from the MG Midget into the observations of loneliness and mental decay.

Quite different from anything and very very good, Apple’s biggest ever audience

Only one episode of Pluribus left this season. I do not expect to see the hive mind business wrapped up in one season - but I am looking forward to seeing Manusos catch up with Carol.

The translated title of the finale is “The Girl or the World”.

The War between the Land & the Sea was a missed opportunity. It needed to be grittier.
However, it was streets ahead of (most) recent woke shit Dr Who’s.
It was teenager shit instead of scare 10 year old level shit from RTD

Pluses? The Green message was well done (so didn’t need to be woke)

And Kate Lethbridge-Stewart received the front of stage that she has deserved since forever. And owned it.

Pick it Up…
Yeah it hovered around the shit level but this took it to not quite levels

Season one of Pluribus is done and out there - Apple put it out early to avoid a Christmas clash.

An excellent episode although it was the opening bit which really got me, going further than anything else to illustrate what the hive mind really is.

That little baby goat deserved better.

Sadly that bit could have been more a Llama ing…
But it’s goat promise

Most other streamers would have cut those 9 episodes down to about 3. The snails pace makes the whole vibe work so well.

Excellent again from Apple

Vince Gilligan and Rhea Seehorn Unpack ‘Pluribus’ Finale Twists and Reveal Original Ending https://variety.com/…/pluribus-finale-explained-vince…/

We had an ending that was perfectly good. It would have been satisfying but not as satisfying. And we got a note. You know the old thing about how executives always have stupid notes. Actually, Apple and Sony said, “Is there an even better ending to be had?” And we listened, and I’m really glad they gave us that note. It made for a better ending.

AI is shit
Oh. Wait.
