The Wheel of Time S3 Ep 7

Fucking Hell

:clap::clap::clap:

Good weekend to re-watch at least the last episode of Andor Season 1 - streamed so long ago!
S2 drops this week

My streamer never uploaded the Doctor Who XMas special so I have jumped straight in to Woke Nonsense shit S2.

Russell T Davies pens Robot Revolution which tbf to wokeness has a sperm & an egg in it and is really owing its DNA to classic Flash Gordon/ Robbie the Robot 1950’s SciFi.
Sadly I must report that it was not shit.

Ep2 again takes us back to B Movie Horror/Who Framed Roger Rabbit and again RTD spins a B Movie yarn from it, with (I hate to say it) a very clever existential chat in the living room with a cup of tea.

Neither episode is Blink - which I can safely say as again in the B Movie clever stupid NOT WOKENESS moment gets confirmed by the cast themselves (yes I mentioned it is existential)

Ep 2 was not shit and, despite linking to a past wokeness, it came back, stayed on track and made me smile.

This is not shit. The new Doctor is less annoying. RTD shows some life and creativity in getting to the “bigger on the inside” bits. XRay blankets. Doctor & Nurse ( come on, how did they not do that gag in 50 odd years)

You know? The show may survive after that awful 1st Ncuti season.

And yes ep2 has a wrongness moment (not a wokeness moment) that works and is so utterly stupid. I’m sure something like it has been done before but how he gets told “how to solve the episode” is gonna make me grin for a while

Rating.
Not as shit as it was

Lol :clap::man_facepalming:

38 years.

38 fvcking years.

And we finally get another Star Wars flying scene to laugh, love and thrill over.

Yeah. Ep1 Act 1 Andor.

It then goes story / rory. But thats fine, we had the Independence Day Oops moment

It’s May the 5th Star Wars day, so it must be said that Andor is the best Star Wars since we met Luke

Unpopular but growing opinion.
The new Doctor Who (S2) is actually good.
After the utter shit f Space Babies and woke pianists, RTD has managed to bring back a feel of that kids run behind the sofa NOW vibe. It has a back story, Ncuti is wearing the Doctor “skin” better and there is more depth.
Ep1 is Retro TOO BRIGHT fun, Ep 2 is clever and breaks the Fourth Wall big time (getting the audience into the actual show) Ep 3 has a twist that would be a spoiler and Ep 4 basically has the Doctor in it for about a minute and asks some deep Podcast modern day truth bomb questions.
All the while - something is in the background (oh for the days of Bad Wolf) - it feels EIL and maybe even (up yours MCU) Multiversal or maybe outtaversial

All this in a Kids show

It is not early David Tennant or Christopher Ecclestone but it is slowly becoming not shit, and I am entertained by it

No spoiler comment from FB

Ghorman Massacre in Andor S2E8 will go down as one of the most horrifying, brutal & finest episodes in modern television history. This ep is not only one of the greatest in Star Wars, but is one of the greatest tv episodes of this century.

Production, filming, acting, and direction is some of the best we have ever witnessed. A proof how to show violence, and make it look horrifying. Tony Gilroy achieved something not even George Lucas could do in Star Wars in 21s century.

Personally?
The writing and acting as we journeyed towards the first point of true horro of the emergence of “The Empire” has been on a different level.
Sure The Mandalorian was great but Andor is giving huge depth to those original movies and prequels.
The characters of Cassian, Syril, Mon Mothma and Dedra have a level of tragedy about them.

As a fan of Star Wars, this is truly magnificent

(And no Jar Jar Binks thank fvck)
