I’m still not done with the original fiction

I have decided that anything @pap posts as a review is bolloxs until he finally gets into For All Mankind.
So this is bollox.

The Bewbs in the show were OK when they turned up, but I may need therapy having seen Matt Smith shagging

That’s a fairly crap reason to consider my reviews bollocks.

Is it as good as ā€œOnce Upon a Timeā€?

Nah. It’s missing Rumplestiltskin

Watched the first two Alien movies back to back over the weekend. I’ve never really done that before. Alien is famously a horror movie while Aliens veers more toward the action. I was quite amused by some of the similarities between the movies, especially when you take that into account.

At the end of the first movie, Ripley has a crappy flamethrower and has to flee for a life.

At the end of the second, she makes it to the dropship, duct tapes a flamethrower and pulse rifle together, disappearing into the belly of the beast.

Nope.
No, not a criticism of Paps review, a new low budget sci fi horror.
Well filmed well acted but interminable slow.
Almost an hour before we get from suspense building to something happening
It’s not a bad effort at the whole ā€œtheres something in the skyā€ genre but could have been a lot shorter.
Review?
It’s almost shit

The last 30 minutes of Nope is ā€œoriginalā€ if far fetched dumb assed

I am not alone in being concerned that Ep2 of Dragons was slow and turgid

Desperately needed a Sean Bean level actor in the 1st 2 episodes or at least more than a glimpse of Matt Smith in Ep2

I’ve seen a few podcasts and YouTube videos lamenting the lack of comic relief, which I think is a fair shout. The real shame is that the source material features a horny little dwarf called Mushroom, whose own history of the period is laced with scandalous tales.

So far, he doesn’t appear to be in the show - although much of his input comes in after shit really kicks off. Hopefully he or someone like him will show up later, because it is fairly heavy going.

Watched the first episode of ā€œRings of Powerā€. Visually magnificent, storylines hinted at but no real direction yet. Why are the proto-hobbits speaking with Dublin accents?
I will watch ep 2

Is it the usual Tolkien sausage fest?

Not so far with Galadriel being the character with most screen time, there is also a little proto-hobbit girl who features a fair bit.

To be fair to those making adaptations, both the Hobbit and Lord of The Rings series greatly expanded the women in it.

e.g. The Hobbit had wmen in it

And AFAIR the original book of The Hobbit had no women characters at all

In The Heavyweight Fantasy Championship of the World.
After 2 rounds it is
Dragons 0 Elves 2
And, unless they up their game it could be that Dragons go all Anthony Joshua and it could be Game Over by Ep3

Lenny Henry as a Hobbit? - please someone, tell me I was mistaken

Nope you weren’t.
Sadly about the only actor on display in the show

I watched the first episode last night and, maybe because I was tired, thought it all over the place and I couldn’t really keep track of what was going on.
