Mark the day.
A critical opinion from @Polski_Filip on something heās seen, casting huge doubt over the popular theory that he and @Cobham-Saint will watch Any Old Shit.

Good critical appraisal of taste
Pot, kettle, black
The Silent Sea is engrossing.
Itās like a throwback thriller to a time of naive victims, women who twist their ankle at the 1st sign of danger, dumb loud mouths getting Agatha Christied first
It has a moral tale in the background with an almost schoolboyish Corporate conspiracy theory in a secret research facility.
It is almost corny and juvenile but so far, to Ep 5, it has stayed in the almost but not quite a Ripping yarn category.
Watchable
Mrs P_F passed judgement
Itās just like all the other stuff you watch but different.
I like it, sort of like that odd alternative history Moon thing but with dumb and dead people
(She meant For all Mankind)
Disney+ have emailed me to say their price for a yearly subscription has gone up by £20, so that has been binned right off.
#inflation thread!
Spaghetti Westerns were never shit. Unintelligible maybe but never shit.
Some of the reviews and comments about The Book of Bobba Fett (which you now cannot watch) say it is shit.
I disagree. Itās unintelligible. Ergo itās a Spaghetti Western.
It will be fine.
If Ep2 has some people that can act in it
Too many platforms spreading content too thin. Disney hoping the name will convince the punters.
For now weāre sticking with Prime (cos of the lazy shopping) & Netflix because none of the others have convinced a switch is worthwhile - imho of course.
Edited to reflect what I have read.
Torrents
Actually.
It has potential.
Bobba is to acting as I am to singing.
Yet the 1st 2 episodes have an almost spiritual journey to them with the Tarkus & some other split time Hutt stuff.
If I stick to Spaghetti Western analogies, it works no spoilers but a train robbery? Really? Then it is working.
Bobba is as detached as Mando but with good reason, the guy was partially digested ffs
Exactamundo.
Sky £300/year
TV licence £150/year
Netflix £60/year
Disney £80/year
Something had to give.
Has anyone watched āKatlaā on Netflix? What did you think of it?
Iāve binned off Sky and TV licence. Disney is terrible value for money. The kids donāt even want to watch most of the crap on there. Star Wars is the only thing worth paying for.
I watched it a while ago and though thereās a lot of dark suicide stuff i quite enjoyed it as far as I remember. Lots of stuff is filmed in Iceland nowadays but i seem to recall that this one showcased Icelands Geography particularly well. The ending was a bit disappointing but the journey up to it was good.
Metacritic and rotten tomatoes indicates itās a real mix of reviews from good to awful, with reviewers liking it a bit more than the general public.
Iāve enjoyed the two episodes so far, but itās definitely not without flaws. Needs some spaceships in it for a start (though that may yet come) and the escape from the Sarlacc pit was a total cop out.
I didnāt enjoy season 3 either. Seems to have got some mojo back for season 4 though. For some reason this program makes me really emotional. Have produced genuine tears on many occasions throughout to the annoyance of my wife. If you can see beyond the fact that it is fundamentally a teen drama it is possibly the best ever implementation of nostalgia in TV history.
How do you get away without paying a TV license? Do you have no televisions in your house?
We actually donāt have any TVs as it happens, but the main thing is that we just donāt watch anything live and I donāt have a BBC iPlayer account.
You donāt need a TV Licence to own or possess a television set . However, if you use it to watch or record programmes as they are being shown on TV or live on an online TV service, or to download or watch BBC programmes on demand, including catch up TV, on BBC iPlayer, then you need a TV Licence in order to do so.
So you quite like it then
Tbh we loved it then it went meh.
Maybe will try & reengage but not easy now Mrs P_F is working
Ghostbusters Afterlife.
They tried. Really tried.
The reboot worked story wise.
It had tension.
But it had none of the humour of the original.
It only had ālove for the originalā moments
Until the finale.
Then I enjoyed it.
A lot.
