Ooh.
Woo hoo!
Another Life S2 just dropped on Netflix. We are SOOO spoiled atm for great ScFi stories.

S1 was engaging. It just wasn’t The Expanse.
But a good story deserving a 2nd season

Worth watching

As if we don’t have enough to watch Raised by Wolves S 2 is coming

Forget that teenage moist hanky/sock shite, this was much better:

Dune Part 2 gets green light.

Saw it on Sunday, totally epic so this is good news. I will no doubt watch part 1 again in the next week or so.

This might be of interest to those still wanting a return to the 'Verse.

Cowboys in space ain’t exactly a new concept, and there was much talk back in the day that Firefly had (ahem) been inspired by Cowboy Bebop, an anime about cowboys in space.

Well, in news unknown to me until this morning, Netflix are making a live action version.

I’d buy one of these if I weren’t all UK and shit.

I think I’m Chaotic Neutral. I suspect many Sotonians are.

Chaotic Stupid surely? :sunglasses:

(Myself included obvs)

Modern Sci Fi is BIG. eg Dune
Big CGI, BIG casts.

So Apple have dropped another show - Invasion which, tbh, nobody likes because the 1st 3 episodes are not BIG.

And actually…

The show focuses on random individuals with no links who are “slightly broken” or at least “with regrets” The retiring Cop who doesn’t think he made a difference, the Immigrant Doctor who gave up her medical career to be a mother with a cheating husband, a young comms expert who is in love with an Astronaut, the soldier in Afghanistan on the edge of PTSD, the borderline epileptic schoolkid who is bullied…

Nope, SciFi reviewers won’t like a story about those characters with close up people stuff, Where is the BIG? they will cry.

And then there IS something, an inexorable progression into something else - from a life of despair to maybe horror?

About 1/3 of the critics seem to get where this is coming from and think it is potentially very good TV.

It is as far from Another Life, Dune or Trek as you could get.

I am hooked FFS - running out of hours in the day to eat with so much SciFi to choose from atm! This about normal people - not heroes or chosen ones - where can it go?

Available on Apple TV or your local provider

Damn hard to write that and keep out any spoilers and I can’t even elaborate on that.

I finally got around to watching Amazing Spider-Man 2, the second Andrew Garfield movie. I went in with low expectations as I heard it wasn’t that great.

I think I like it more than Spider-Man 3, but much like that film, it tries to do too much.

Thought the Goblin design was shite as well.

I enjoyed Another LIfe S1. Maybe because it had Katie Sackhoff in it but it had a decent story if wandering at tines and it was BIG.

I was pleased it got a S2, because as I said at the time, it got overlooked because it wasn’t The Expanse, but the core story showed “promise”

S2 dropped (Netflix). I will be honest, first few episodes built on S1 but meandered, it seemed we were not “moving forward”.

The last half of the season showed why. We moved forward, those meanderings became important. Side stories came back and detours made sense when getting back to where we started.

Then.

It built a Universe.

Very much enjoyed that. The story Arc is 2 Seasons - tale told, investment rewarded. Anything more would just be spoilers.

Watch it

Lucifer. Netflix.
6 Seasons done. A show with a proper ending.
S1 was quirky weird silly and enjoyable. The Devil comes to LA on vacation and becomes a “Consultant” to a female Cop.
S2 was OK, it switched to a different HD hand held style but was watchable.
S3 was Hmmm. Mrs P_F enjoyed it so we stuck with it. Other Celestials came and went, there was a humourous bit where Lucifers’ Cop’s ex gets to shag God’s Wife…
S4 was hard work and we kept going through lockdown as an entertaining distraction, in hindsight it was building the universe but I know a lot of people gave up.
They shouldn’t have.
S5 was gloriously and lovingly fvcked up. No great spoilers but “Dad” decides to retire and comes to meet the kids on Earth. Some very entertaining moral/mental brain farts
S6, very clever, very loving, very enjoyable.

Look it got tough, but I am glad we watched clever quirky and we love that a show ended the story was told and, we will miss him.

DC’s The Sandman from the same stable comes next, it will have a hard time beating the love in this show

Oh and Dr Linda Martin is one of THE greatest straight “guys” ever

Babylon 5
Michael York.
King Arthur.
Only episode I remember from 1st watch in 1995.
:clap::clap:

B5 S3 finale.
That’s how you end a season.
Classic stuff

Whoa…

Just found out my BFF in UK has a Sci Fi claim to fame (some of you met at a pre match beer)

His Lad’s ex is?

Gael - the Actress in Foundation.

His Son has now received shit from Dad and me for messing that one up FFS idiot.
