An hour long TF&TWS this week.
Where we start by moving on from the horror of last weeks ending and then nothing much happens.
Which makes it just fine. Just damned fine.
The cast continue to knock it out of the park, the strength and depth what is missing from other promising shows.
This episode felt like a much missed episode of Jessica Jones or Luke Cage, just so much story.
And it sets us up for the finale and a lot of big issues to be resolved
Probably time to report on the progress of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.
The notion has been had that this is MCUâs Lethal Weapon. If that notion is correct, this episode has al the family bits of Lethal Weapon, absent the exploding toilet.
Theyâve done this season right, imo. I did not expect this episode but it was absolutely needed.
I am starting to see Disney+'s Marvel TV shows like a comic run.
Not only are the titular characters further developed, and well developed. Weâve also seen the proper birth of Zemo, and big spoilersâŚ
Thunderbolts was a fantastic series in Marvel. The central conceit is masked super-villains putting on new costumes and forming a different super hero team to rival the Avengers.
The strength of the episode was that it addressed difficult questions while quietly telling/adding to the story imho.
It also leaves 3 characters with possible âstoriesâ into the future and time for us non geeks to read the nerd blogs to understand what you meant in your blurred paragraph.
Hmm the Baroness
A recommendation: Places in the darkness. Chris Brookmyre.
Normally writes comedy stuff, all excellent, but when I bought this, what a surprise! An extremely well written sci fi novel with a very good story line. Would make an excellent film.
Itâs okay, and definitely elevated by Nic Cage. You donât really want anyone else doing those transformation scenes. The bloke doesnât hold back. Heâs a madman.
Kind of weird that Debris is now growing a massive fanbase.
Clearly my original impression that the lead actors were âwoodenâ and a bit Dr Who ishhas been shown to be the story development and the fact that the Finola actress was in Dr Who.
The double âIcarusâ episodes have taken it to some next level spooky sci-fi shit.
Hopefully it will keep evolving and we really will get a Fringe/X Files cross over.
Meanwhile The Irregulars showed exactly what happens when you cast woke members of the Village AmDram Society & has been canned. Good idea shit execution.
Weeell, someone got killed in Ep.1, but so far in Ep.2 nobody is trying to rule.
Bad boy Blackstar, currently banged up in chokey is a contender. Though a fake Blackstar apparently did some killing after escaping from said chokey before being killed by the good guysâŚor was it a fake?
Some good backstory flashback to the depression era when the olds got their powers.
Still early days but itâs growing on me. Very âmurican though.
Well, have binged to Ep.4 so far and itâs obviously at least ok if Iâve got that far and not got bored. OK, not quite The Boys, different, but in a good way.
Wow.
It is getting pelters from reviewers.
Most common comment âitâs a messâ
Any confirmation on that? Do I take it off my watch list & go Nevers?
The fake beards a a bit of an annoying distraction.
Reviews are just opinions. I donât slavishly base my decision to view on them and would rather find out myself. Iâm not reaching for the off button which is good enough for me.
Youâll probably sneer at it if youâre firmly wedded to Marvel or DC capeshit.
