It’s just a much more coherent experience.
They actually do the characters…
(DRUM ROLL)
… Justice
I finished watching the film last night and was mightily impressed with it, it was actually a well told story with proper character building and no stupid “humour”, they actually made Aquaman a decent character.
Question, did Snyder film all over again or was this the original film and they mullered it…
Original re-edited and a lot of reshoots.
HTH
The Falcon & The Winter Soldier.
Oh yes.
It isn’t WandaVision but that would be daft.
Crazy opening sequence then beds down to fill in some post Avengers gaps & backstory, and sets up a villainous theme for the rest of the series.
So much more Marvelly and enjoyable.
It was primarily about Batman v Superman not doing that well or being that great. Actually thought the whole BvS thing, at this stage, the way they did it, was not great myself either.
They should have used that film to do a proper team up, not an accidental one. If it had just been called Dawn of Justice and focused more on that, it would have been better.
So elsewhere, there has already been two huge team up movies from Marvel, alongside a number of other films which featured multiple characters and team ups. They see that Joss Whedon, erstwhile of Buffy did the last two Avengers films and has fallen out with Marvel.
Snyder’s daughter had also tragically taken her own life. One story is that Snyder left the project to grieve. It’s more likely that concerned producers swapped him out for “proven winner” Whedon.
They brought him over. He tried to Whedonise it with disastrous results. As someone that has watched more than one of his series, I’m starting to think he’s a fucking hack. A lot of the people who’ve worked with him say he’s a cock in the workplace.
Batman v Superman was dogshit.
Gave up on it.
Which leads us to the problem with the Zack film.
We had no idea what was going on at the beginning. Sure we knew about Amazonians etc but Superman dead?
It was only about 1/2 way through that I realised we’d watched Justice League whivh I recalled as being total turd.
The only 2 lines I recalled “what’s your Superpower? I’m rich” & “I bought the bank”.
But back to Zack. This is now a good film. It has a story, characters and made sense.
Yeah the grand battle sequences are a bit more CGI than The Avengers, but that is being picky.
The best review? Simple. Mrs P_F sat alongside & watched the whole damned thing. Very unusual & confirms.
It is a good film.
I also considered picking a fight with @whyayemanlander on this point and even did some background research some weeks back arriving at the same conclusions as you and your video with one difference. I additionally concluded that this was a particularly noncey thing to have an internet argument about and decided to leave it.
Apart from the use of “noncey” I agree.
Any reason why you think “noncey” applies in that argument, given everyone knows the current connotation of the word?
Thank you for that. I was unaware of the references quoted, not owning every book ever published in the Tolkien Legendarium
Tolkien taught my granddad Anglo-Saxon as part of his English degree at Oxford. granddad said that Tolkien was a “dreadful mumbler, with terrible cramped handwriting”. I’ve never read any of the books and have only seen The Hobbit at the cinema and thoroughly regretted losing those hours. I do have a lovely 1980s edition of the book with a lovely cover which I do need to sell.
Yeah, because I liked the way it sounded. Weird question.
Not really, because it came across as you implying the OP was one. Seems something isn’t quite right with what is acceptable and unacceptable to you & why you like to use the word.
Weird context to use the word.
Weird context to use the word.
I don’t particularly wish to legislate for your lack of reading comprehension. Further, it would be noncey to continue this argument beyond this point.
RedLetterMedia have spoken on matters Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
Love the section where they’re pricing the jokes Whedon added.
I watched about 2 hours of it last night, found it quite dull so far but I will reserve full judgement til I have worked through the second half.
It’s got a different tone and pace to the Marvel stuff, that’s for damned sure. I think he was just trying to make epics. I watched the Ultimate cut of Batman vs Superman and just like this, although not to the same extent, it’s a better film.
I am no uncritical fan of Snyder. I went to see Sucker Punch in the cinema, which I think was the first time he tried his hand at writing. I just ended up thinking "you built this narrative around these visuals?
I rate Watchmen a lot, 300 I can take or leave. I can see what he tried to do in these films.
For all the shit that the final third of Man of Steel gets, people have not known what the fuck to do with that character since the Christopher Reeve era, and even then, Superman had to live in a whimiscal throwback world nothing like the late 1970s just for it to work.
They get a pass because they cheated.
Snyder goes the opposite way, ponders rather fucking loudly about what a load of Kryptonians scrapping in Metropolis would actually entail in the real world, and gets crucified.
I’ve now watched the whole thing, I certainly liked it a lot more than the theatrical release, and it certainly helped tie in some of the aspects of Bats v Supes that was completely erased by Whedon, namely the dream sequence and the Flash’s message.
Overall I’d give it 5/10 and I’m glad we got to see the original vision, I still think the first half was quite dull, I guess because I’d already been introduced to these characters and suspending my disbelief enough to pretend I hadn’t was a bit of a stretch. I thought the plot made more sense, the villain better fleshed out in terms of character and motivation, and I liked the final set piece, I also liked the epilogue sequence, I’d like to see that follow up film for sure, how they’d do it without drawing comparisons to End game I don’t know, but I’d like to see it play out.
