šŸ¦‡ The sci-fi, fantasy and capeshit thread

I think Mrs C_S and YoungAdult#1 were watching this while laid up on the sofas while flashing their Covid status on their mobiles

( YoungAdult#2 sweating it out in bed - not feeling good - me? Absofuckingloutely fine - well - relatively speaking, being able to cook and bottle-wash )

Anyway, they weren’t too impressed.

WW84 is a darned good movie.
Coming to UK 13th Jan or all ddmodgy streaming sites now

I’ve just read the IMDB reviews, after watching the first 20 minutes or so of the film, to say their feelings about the movie don’t match yours would be an understatement…

@Polski_Filip and @Cobham-Saint will enjoy any old shit.

This is true :+1::wink:

I’m a bit conflicted now.

As @pap rightly says me & @Polski_Filip will enjoy any old shit. Is it really going to be too shit even for me to watch???

Mrs P_F loved it. Meant no guests round for a change.
Ergo.
Darned good film.

Review? It’s kind of a slick remake of a corny 80s show that retains its corniness.

Next up must be Nightrider the Movie remake

God’s death man!! That’s something that should never have seen the light of day. Even the original should have been drowned at birth… :man_facepalming:

Blasphemer! :lou_angry:

And how the feck do they get the car out of the appartment, in the lift?

Big fan of Knight Rider. I thought it was ace as a child. I know it’s shit as an adult, but what glorious shit.

My favourite episodes are those that feature Hasselhoff playing the evil version of himself or any other kind of super vehicle, say KARR or Goliath.

This has got both.

What a ridiculous question, I refuse to answer.

George Michael was an inspired choice for Evil Michael Knight.

So, after watching the movie myself I think that IMDB reviews are way off of the mark, it’s a good popcorn movie with potholes you could drive a tank through but, overall, it’s not that bad.

I wonder if people are paid to write bad IMDB reviews like they are for good Amazon reviews??

Plot-holes really shouldn’t exist in fiction.

This is something that the writers should have complete control over. I think it’s the result of just making stuff to a budget. Either not enough time to shake ideas down, or not able to film the scenes that would have made sense of something.

They’re not as commonplace in books.

Seems the fault lies with the studio not the writers/makers.
They barged in demanding changes & so 3rd Act is kind of messy.

But it is a perfect Sunday afternoon movie not every film needs to have an utterly Evil bad guy, (are you listening Star Trek Kelvin?) makes a change for them to be ā€œmisledā€ in that direction by forces they cant control/were unaware of.
