Raised By Wolves. Has Ridley Scott just raised the bar for a TV sci-fi series or is it just a load of bollocks?

Not watched. Is on the list.
Seeing a lot of comments like yours though. Seems a Marmite show

We are two shows in. I like it so far but Mrs SOG isn’t keen. I like most of Scott’s work but can see how this divides opinion.

Just realised. I never saw MCU’s The Incredible Hulk (2008)
Fact it is shit may have been the reason.
But I am on a binge so have to suffer someone else’s art

And in other news Paul Stamets is real…

And, yes, the character was named after him…

Hoorah!

As opposed to fake Science Fiction?

Finished a rewatch of the fourth series of The Expanse ahead of next week’s premiere of season five. Much keener on the fourth season this time around, much as I have been with each rewatch. It’s a dense show that purposefully keeps you out of your comfort zone in terms of where it takes the plot.

It’s not a show where you can guess the ending of each series pretty early on in each series. It changes up in terms of environment a lot, but what remains consistent are characters with strong relationships and motivations you understand.

The fourth season is really about doing two things; the first human colony in another galaxy and the establishment of the next season’s antagonist. It ends on a cliffhanger.

Really show sci-fi doesn’t have to be nonsense to be compelling. The Expanse can draw more from a basic issues of being in space than Discovery can get by raiding the entire Star Trek canon.

T’is a goody.
Hopefully someone will have a crack at some Peter F. Hamilton or some Neal Asher soon

Fam C_S are all looking forward to it.

We’ll be studiously avoiding anything posted by you and @Polski_Filip until we’ve watched each episode and will then compare notes.

We’ve high hopes for the series :+1:

So, I’ve started watching Battlestar Galactica (not the 70s version) again.

I’d forgotten how good it actually is/was…
