We are two shows in. I like it so far but Mrs SOG isnāt keen. I like most of Scottās work but can see how this divides opinion.

As opposed to fake Science Fiction?
Finished a rewatch of the fourth series of The Expanse ahead of next weekās premiere of season five. Much keener on the fourth season this time around, much as I have been with each rewatch. Itās a dense show that purposefully keeps you out of your comfort zone in terms of where it takes the plot.
Itās not a show where you can guess the ending of each series pretty early on in each series. It changes up in terms of environment a lot, but what remains consistent are characters with strong relationships and motivations you understand.
The fourth season is really about doing two things; the first human colony in another galaxy and the establishment of the next seasonās antagonist. It ends on a cliffhanger.
Really show sci-fi doesnāt have to be nonsense to be compelling. The Expanse can draw more from a basic issues of being in space than Discovery can get by raiding the entire Star Trek canon.
Tāis a goody.
Hopefully someone will have a crack at some Peter F. Hamilton or some Neal Asher soon
